Do not sleep on seeing King Buffalo yall. They were just incredibly tight, sound was perfect, the pockets were deep. That overengineered sound their records have, where everything is almost too crisp, too precise, too together? That shits real, its just how they sound.   Their t-shirts are killer too, if I'd had more money I would have left with at least four plus records. All their merch is cheap. This was up there for best show of the year for me, better than All Them Witches, better than Tedeschi Trucks from 5th row at Red Rocks, maybe better than Red Fang and Bell Witch at this same venue.

Frankie and the witch fingers were pretty god drat good. Not doom or stoner but if you like Oh Sees and or king gizzard you will probably enjoy Frankie and the witch fingers a lot too.

They haven't played Sydney for a while and as far as I know they have no scheduled gigs anywhere I think because they're working on another album. They've been sitting on this one for a long time. They also made some pretty frustrated posts about local distribution being a massive hurdle for them, more so than overseas which might go some of the way to explaining why.

I want to see them again but given they dont really make my type of music any more i can definitely wait. Seems like they are hitting a decent stride, so will probably do some bigger shows down this way eventually. Truth be told the homegrown scene here has so many excellent bands and shows on that I am spoiled for choice some weekends.

I like the new Elder album. I like everything they do pretty much. Nothing will ever compare to Dead Roots Stirring though. King Buffalo has definitely surpassed them as my favorite band though. Regenerator is just so perfect.
