Night 1 in DC was so choice: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/sleep/2018/930-club-washington-dc-33ebd805.html

I couldn't have hoped for a better set, with the exception of course of playing the full version of the encore.

While we are talking about live white whales, I think the biggest band in this vein that I have never seen is Church of Misery. Gee whiz I wish they would pop up somewhere nearby.

Does Church of Misery even have a lineup right now? The last album was all session musicians except the bassist who runs the show.

They're touring so I assume they're using those session guys as the live line up also?

Metal-archives has all new Japanese guys that joined last year. The album was Americans including Scott Carlson from Repulsion.

Found a neat one-man psych stoner act called Devil's Witches and I'm digging it a lot. Any recommendations for similar stuff? I've gone through a lot of the Spotify recs but most of em are meh.

At a Clutch show in Cambridge MA, I got punched in the ear while in the pit. That was sometime in the late 90's.

In 2018, I'm totally OK with songs about making crab cakes.

Bongripper is one of those bands that I need to be in a certain mood to listen to, and even then, I like their stuff but it never compels me the way I think I expect it should. I finally saw them live at Migration Fest, and man, I get it. They killed the hell out of it. The finale was crushing.

Have you ever listened to the version of Satan Worshiping Doom from Roadburn? If not give it a listen because it's a vast improvement over the studio version.

New track from All Them Witches. This is super bluesy and more garage psychedelic than doom and gloom. Still, I dig it and I very much dig this band.

Saw Sleep for the second time this year and once again it was very good, though not quite as loud. Still no Dopesmoker but I did get my favorite tracks off of The Sciences.

Actually all of the Sciences besides Antarcticans Thawed and the intro track
