I really like Wasteland after a ton of plays over the last few days, but I'm really not a fan of the nearly all-treble mix. The album really benefits from dialing in the bass quite a bit more, I think.

Sounded really promising until the vocals started, I can't get into that voice at all :(

They're super rad. They played in my city a few months back and we all sat in a van and got baked between bands.

That reminds me, I have a friend in a pretty cool two-piece doom band. That friend supplied the weed and opened for Hazytones that night. https://mortar.bandcamp.com/

Solar Haze also played that night. They're cool too. https://solarhazeband.bandcamp.com/

While we're at it, Sixes play here a lot and they're fun and evil. https://sixesdoom.bandcamp.com/

I agree the vocals are the weakest part and they start out kinda weird but if you can push through they get a bit better imo and there's some great tunes in there

I have every one of them, and although there's some clunkers on all of them, for the most part, it's pretty good stuff. Besides, they're all "name your price," so it's kind of a win-win deal.

I recommend the Chicago one (mostly because my band is on it but also there are a bunch of good local acts here and they're good people).

Just got in from the St Pete show and I'm half tempted to go to the Orlando show next weekend. They're killer and I miss the days when I'd see them more often.

Last time I saw them they were opening for Municipal Waste and I got a concussion because, well, Municipal Waste played. So it's nice to see them and be able to remember the whole show.

Track 3 is ours. We’ve also played with Cokegoat and Marmora who are nice people and good bands (Cokegoat especially). REZN are solid as well.

I like that his style and harmonic language are still recognizable, even though the style of music is so different.

There's a whole bunch of good stuff on the Canada one. You could easily make a killer compilation from BC bands alone- a lot of the best ones aren't even represented on the compilation.

Speaking of killer BC bands, Empress are doing a split with Piece from Germany, and a corresponding Euro tour. The track they just put up has been one of my favorites from their live set: https://thisisempress.bandcamp.com/

I have listened to it several times and seen them live. It's like a 7/10 at best, which compared to the album art that's like a 1000/10 is extra disappointing. Impressive but not a compelling listen.

They had a song on the Black Market a while back that I really liked but I'm really struggling to keep up with new music these days. Also does anyone know if it's supposed to be Un like the French word for "one" or Un like the prefix?

When I interviewed them, the main guy said that they considered themselves more psychedelic than doom, if that might help sway you.

e: "Execution" is a pretty good intro track for seeing how you might like them.
