I really like Wasteland after a ton of plays over the last few days, but I'm really not a fan of the nearly all-treble mix. The album really benefits from dialing in the bass quite a bit more, I think.

They played in my city a few months back and we all sat in a van and got baked between bands. That reminds me, I have a friend in a pretty cool two-piece doom band. They're killer and I miss the days when I'd see them more often. Last time I saw them they were opening for Municipal Waste and I got a concussion because, well, Municipal Waste played. So it's nice to see them and be able to remember the whole show.

So after many years I’m actually listening to Ahab’s “Call of the Wretched Sea” for the first time, and...poo poo bangs. I have never been able to thoroughly enjoy a funeral doom album but this one rules.
