Oh yeah, baby. Frame your suffering as a masterpiece. Only one problem - no one's watching. It's boring, buddy, boring as death.
New High on Fire is a massive thumbs up. Last album just felt a bit flat and drawn out, I can hang out with this new one all day.

And as a recommendation, a band from my wimpy little town who have two albums out.

So I've been listening to Torche--Meanderthal and I love it. "Sludge Pop" is the closest I can describe it, like a balls out Foo Fighters. Besides the new Baroness, are there any other bands out there that resemble Torche? They are almost a missing link between sludge and more guitar oriented indie rock.

Yeah, I feel the same, but I started with Harmonicraft. Really hope there are other bands that have this cool turn on normal sludgy stuff.

You could try Kylesa, specifically Static Tensions and Spiral Shadow. I always go to Kylesa when I'm in a "sludge pop" fix and want more than just Torche.

Yeah already have a few Kylesa albums after digging Baroness and was pointed their way. Hope someone else picks them up though because Kylesa rules.

Vibing on Grave Image by Deathwhite recently. Might be a bit clean, but has some doomy/sludgy parts.

That Elephant Tree album reminds me of Torche, if it was less pop and more chill, good stuff.
