I don't think I've seen this posted, but my buddies in Loss are putting out a new album on Profound Lore very soon. Funeral doom for those of you interested.

I'm looking for some critiques on this "doom" track for lack of a better descriptor. Comparisons could be made to early Swans & Godflesh, maybe, though I've never been a fan.

I mostly want to know about the mixing/mastering and if it strikes you as suitably heavy or good. One thing I am going to change is to make the vocals sit in the mix better. I need to listen to it on more sources.

If you don't want this to monopolize the conversation you can email me at tapesofaneongod@gmail.com

Thanks.

Perhaps you would like Yzorderrex, it's a bit less drone from what I recall of Khanate, but very good.

Small world! That's my good bro and I did the art for the first Yzor release. He's putting out my project, Pornography, on his label soon.

It's been compared to Khanate or has Khanate-like properties, but if you're looking for straight Khanate-worship you could do a lot better.

My new jams are streaming on CVLT Nation: https://soundcloud.com/cvltnation/sets/pornography-hex-b-w-golden

It's not so much doom in my eyes, but some people see it that way so who am I to argue. It's heavy and slow enough that one of you might enjoy it. It also isn't overly heavy or slow as it is mean and noisy. The second song in particular uses repetition to abuse the listener, which we all can appreciate.

I hope no hipsters ruin my good time at the doom metal show. They might do something bad like headbang in a different way than I am used to or drink PBR with their pinkies up.
