My band Destroyer of Light is putting out a new album, here's the first song we've released to the world, Prisoner of Eternity.
I think I'm allowed to post the tour dates tomorrow, we're all super proud of this album. More songs will be released about every 2 weeks.

Also I leave Friday for a little tour with my singers fiance's band, Witchcryer, and Messa from Italy, should be pretty rad.
Check it if you like female fronted doom.

Edit: Tour with Goya, also a badass band.

I'm going to try to catch your Asheville show, it's on a Wednesday night so we will see.

Space-themed blackened doom; Envoy was about the Voyager I craft, and Alien World is based on the novel Solaris.

Yeah Envoy was really cool, definitely going to check out the new on. Thanks

Windhand rules. i used to run a shipping store and Ryan would come in pretty regularly to ship cracked cymbals back to Zildjian.

I got to know Ryan a bit when he was playing in a band called Rent America out of Goldsboro NC, it's funny because he used to play super fast punk/hardcore drumming and now he plays real slow in Windhand.

I like YOB's "Our Raw Heart" song.
At first it was not what I was expecting so I was a little bummed but after giving it a chance it's really good and I like it a lot.

I've not heard the rest of the album besides "The Screen" but after revisiting "Marrow" after getting familiar with "Our Raw Heart" I have to say that comparing the two falls flat for me.

Given I've not heard the other songs so maybe the rest are just a bunch of "Marrow" wannabees but as of right the new album is sounding pretty good to me.

I get why some folks may not like it as it is a little different but I feel like YOB is still doing YOB.

I just finished listening to the whole album for the first time. It's real nice.
The 3rd track was not perfect at first listen but it might grow on me.
Otherwise hell yes.

I've been listening to "our raw heart" song quite a bit and in the context of the rest of the album it's even better.

I'm driving in from Charlotte. I was planning on checking out some places downtown before heading over the west side near the mothlight. What's the locals opinion?

I wish I had some good advice, downtown is pretty great if you are a 60 year old retired couple. As I mentioned I'm too lame and old to hang out at a cool place.

The pinball museum is pretty cool, they have all sorts of old games: http://ashevillepinball.com/

Buxton Hall BBQ is good: http://www.buxtonhall.com/
Though my fav "Asheville Restaurants" are probably Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack and Twelve Bones, which aren't really downtown but not too far either, Also 12 Bones would be closed on Sunday.

http://www.woolworthwalk.com/ has a bunch of local artist stuff and you can just walk in and look around. There's a lunch counter too.

it vibrates guitar strings so you don't have to pick them to make sound. It makes like a violin string sound. They are way fun.
