I need to give Weekend at Burnie's a listen. Ski's production on the Pilot Talk albums is loving fantastic. As long as Curren$y is rapping over beats like that, he's a lot of fun to listen to.

Verde Terrace is one of my favorite things released this year rap wise.

Ok, I lied the boy does not appreciate flow and I want to shove his face in it. I've played him all sorts of things, and it's getting to the point where I really do think I'm just old.

Why not play something hard like UGK, Three 6 Mafia (only Lord Infamous though for flow examples) 8Ball & MJG, Pastor Troy (Face Off), or Freddie Gibbs if you want something newer. You're showing him stuff he doesn't give a poo poo about people rapping about skateboarding and poo poo when he likes trap muzik.

Have you heard the new tracks Jus has been featured on? "Chainsaw Surgery" with some wack rear end guy and "Wolves" with Poetic Death. A pretty cool video I think, and I actually like Poetic Death, his album that this song is on is pretty dope, has a song with Planet Asia as well. Yeah, Lil B is the way to go. His music is very inspirational, rare, and positive. He has some of the most cleverest lyrics in the game right now. Tracks like "baby Baby" "Miley Cyrus" "Woo Woo Swag" and "Paris Hilton" are lyrical masterpieces. You might want to check out Kreayshawn as well, she is the AZ to Lil B's Nas.

As for "well-written" I meant thoughtful, clever, or poetic, to a degree beyond the norm with a vocabulary beyond remedial - I understand that backpack seems to be a dirty word in most circles, but it has an appeal to me musically. I don't mind self-aggrandizing lyrics as long as there's something more to them - though it took me a while to get used to.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Initial listens are proving fruitful.

Try listening to Big L. Some of the craziest lines ever from that guy. Prodigy is great too, Hell On Earth is one of my favorite rap albums ever. HNIC and HNIC Part 2 are well written as well.
