Jeremiah Jae's full length came out a month or two ago, I wasn't paying attention and just heard it.

Production is solid, there is a lot to listen to. Not sure about his rapping. Usually sounds lazy but it kinda goes with the production and he's more a producer than a rapper and poo poo. Money and Food? The Great Escape? Guns Go Off? Good stuff. Dunno if I'll care to listen to it in a month though

There's nothing wrong with a rapper being from an upper middle class background; it's just that when people are honest in their music it tends to be better (not always though).
Maybe LMFAO and Ke$ha took the crunk ethos but definitely not the sound in any way. They do that annoying electro-house poo poo(that for some reason sounds neither like electro nor house? It's basically singing over Benny Benassi leftovers)

As far as honesty -- I dunno, I see Ke$ha as "more honest" than, say, Kreayshawn or Riff Raff(all she sings about is getting wasted and partying and, sure, I believe that's basically all Ke$ha does) -- but I'd probably rather listen to Kreayshawn.

Edit: yes, crunk is an ethos. I heard you guys talking about Miami bass influence on crunk but what about Bay Area hyphy/thizz music? I see someone like Mac Dre or E-40 as a progenitor of crunk moreso than 2 Live Crew. E-40 had a handful of big features on crunk songs too.

Yeah I dunno they always showed a good respect for hip hop in their lyrics to me and showed both a knowledge of the music and of tons of other esoteric poo poo they'd throw in there. It could bring up a discussion about self-referentiality in art, but for me part of the fun of most innovative hip hop is that it creates something new while respecting/referring to older things that casual listeners wouldn't necessarily pick up on. Commenters there are saying it was just a Jewish star but I dunno I think he knew it was a GD thing. Like when he named that song BMF which was possibly a double entendre on Black Mafia Family/Blowing Money Fast, and he's always referencing Big Meech!(a leader of BMF) Larry Hoovah!(a leader of GD) and trying to appropriate the style of a drug boss/gangster badass. It seems totally intentional.

Death threats for that are hosed up to most people but gangsters operate differently

I like Ross just for the spectacle of his music/persona. His verses are all basically the same content though. Big money, freak hoes, push weight, do work, BAWS.
