I know instinctively tht listening to Das Racist/Immortal Technique/Wu-Tang makes you a dork and I'm no that guy but if you ignore all the misogyny and pointless consumpton in top 40 rap aren't you giving it a free pass out of some need for authenticity or looking at it through a sort of blackface lense? This is from someone who consumes rap not "sage francis raps about real poo poo man!" bullshit

Everything popular in america is misogynist and materialistic, rap just more explicit and honest about it.

I happen to often like weird rear end hip-hop in the vein of Antipop consortium and other groups that make me a dork and Noz linked up this and its tight:

Yea El-P and Despot were going off about how good Exquire was yesterday and that lead me to listening and liking it a lot.
Blockhead did a bunch of Aesop Rock and other Def Jux production (i think) and had a few instrumental albums that were nice. Unless there's someone else using the name.

Get Kendrick Lamar's section 80. He's got crazy vocal talent and does similar politically tinged stuff over somewhat pop sensible beats. There's a bunch of other dudes who do similar stuff, but Kendrick's probably the closest in talent and sound to Lu.

Has the Game always been this kind of diss rapper? After this and the Hopsin thing earlier this week I'm sick of the (___________ diss) that goes after all the titles.
