My guess is that it's a perfectly mediocre adaptation, very much like any J-Drama manga -> movie adaptation. Basically this. I was actually pretty excited to see it as I love Asian Kung-Fu Generation, which is pretty much how I imagined their band sounded in the manga. None of the music in the movie really stood out to me.
