My cards all went out on Christmas Eve to all US addresses on the site. Love all of you guys! I keep collecting postcards and special note cards for future messages, I just need to get off my butt to start sending more mail!

Thanks to the many who have sent unrequited cards and notes! I am terrified of forgetting someone so I won’t try to list, but they always bring me a smile and I hope to get to sending some stuff of my own during this inter-holiday period

I have received many cards and then went on vacation. I'll be getting replies sent when I return in January. If you sent me a card, thank you so much. I have my list back at home, but rest assured they all arrived.

I mailed out some random old postcards this week and two of them were from a long ago New Orleans trip. Just a heads up if you get one in the mail that it was sent before the tragedy. Sending love to everyone, take care of yourselves.

Hello all, one of my new year's resolutions was to fulfill my artistic side and be more social. I would love to join your card exchange! Kelly S. 230 Oak Grove Street Apt. 415 Minneapolis, MN. 55403 ____________________________ NSFW is okay, but please no genitals/goatse. My birthday is June 16th (Gemini) 39/female. Another one of my new year's resolutions was to downsize. So, while I would absolutely love letters, cards, crossword puzzles, and drawings - please no handmade gifts. I have no room in my apartment for gifts until I have gotten rid of all my other stuff. Furthermore, in an effort to purge my craft supplies, please let me know if you want either of the following and I will mail it to you along with a card: 1.) A sandwich size ziploc filled with unused sticker sheets. Includes some old 1990's holographic stickers, and some brand-new puffy stickers. Great to hand out if you've got kids or are a schoolteacher. 2.) DC/Marvel superhero postage stamps. Unused, but on sheets where some stamps are missing. Eight are worth $0.39/ea. and sixteen are worth $0.41/ea. 3.) Rolls of unused washi tape. 8mm x 5 rolls of solid colors. And 3mm x 5 rolls of tiny patterns.

WOW. It's been a good month for goonmail, including some Christmas stuff that has just arrived. (I quite like getting Christmas cards in January; it's easier to enjoy Christmas afterwards when there's less rush...) Thanks to chernobyl princess, the genesplicers, keetron, lamb, emily spinach and finally kafka's goldfish who sent an excellent hand-stitched fairy-wren [standard reference snout included in photo for scale.] You did a great job on the details despite never seeing one of these guys irl before!

Whaa! So much mail lately since the Canada Post strike ended. I need to get myself organized to mail out more art cards, but I always get stuck trying to think of something non-lame to say in them.

You are overthinking this, just write me a small letter where you talk about the flowers in your back yard or that thing that happened on the train to work. Please share with me the mundane of the life you are living as it is so vastly different from mine that it for sure will entertain. Ulillinguist posted:1.) Zoesdare thank you for the letter and stickers and paper cactus! I've also received mail from Abyss, Keetron, and probably many others that I need to respond to. Just seeing something in my mail that isn't a bill or a circular continues to be very exciting for me. I'm looking forward to sending Valentines to you all.

Thank you Kafka's Goldfish for the beautiful valentine. I really had meant to do Valentines this year, but I was unmotivated

Unmotivated is definitely the word of the year for me right now. Hope everyone is taking some time to look after themselves.

Hey everyone, this thread seems awesome. I've done some fountainpenpals stuff before and enjoyed it, but it always peters off over time. Sending cool stuff to other goons with no feeling of obligation for ongoing correspondence unless it naturally arises sounds great. I'm male, 38 (April 3), have two young kids, and when time and energy allows (see aforementioned young kids) I'm into fountain pens, crossword puzzles, trivia, hiking and camping, photography, miniature painting/Warhammer, board games and RPGs, and reading sci-fi and fantasy. The kids like to check the mail so let's keep it family friendly please. Eric L. 489 Dolores Ave. San Leandro, CA 94577 United States

Oh dang, a penpal thread, how the hell have I never seen this before? I have a million forever stamps just waiting to be finally used and this seems like just the thing. Please add me to ze list, I wish to receive goonmail (no NWS or grody stuff pls). Address to: L. W. 5133 Oxbow Pl N Champlin MN 55316 USA I'm an old lady (like in my 50s) with ADHD who has budgies and likes birds in general and also flowers and 3D modeling and video games like BG3, Silent Hill and Warframe and I use Arch btw. Also a godless childfree ~artiste~ who stopped arting for a really long time and now trying to revive it again; maybe some goon(s) will get bad art from me, I dunno. I’m coming back from the dead to post about how much I love and appreciate all the mail you all send me. I feel terrible that I don’t reciprocate, it’s been a weird few years for me so the little beacons of friendship are so nice 💕

I got letters! Thanks Zoesdare and Chernobyl Princess! Took me a little while but I am writin' people now. Checkin' out that goonlist of addresses -- I don't think it's been updated for a long time so I went back in the thread to farm for more recent folks back to 2024.

Hey, I used to love these snail mail threads, made friends through them, and I am thinking of participating again. But in 2007, when I took part in one, someone had a scrapbook started that was sent around, for each goon to have a page to go nuts on. I lived in Russia at the time and I remember having great fun creating mine. The blank pages were black. So... looooong shot, but is there anyone with the remotest idea of what happened to it?

Dawncloack posted:Hey, I used to love these snail mail threads, made friends through them, and I am thinking of participating again. That is such a beautiful idea and I remember this, too! Just a few months ago, when I was chatting with another goon, we were asking that ourselves and talked about recreating that idea, either with a book or whatever else one can "create" and form together. I would assume, it crash landed somewhere and that someone stopped posting or just did not send it away again, or maybe it is eternally on its way to the next goon and was lost in transit somewhere, who knows! Really fun concept, though, I'd love to have it back in whatever imaginable way, shape or form!

I need to get back into mailing stuff and doing creative stuff after the last couple of months, and I also need to rebuild my collection of goonmail since I'm pretty sure most of it was in my office. Please sign me up for this project; my mail should be auto-forwarding to my temporary digs but in case it isn't: IMJack 3520 Wilshire Way # 3119 Richardson TX 75082

I could be the last goon to get it and then use my digital lab resources to scan a copy to send to everyone who participated. I know that defeats the purpose of the physical portion, but it would at least be a high quality memento.
