Don't get me wrong, that's better than what is normally drawn for Red Sonja, but it's still about as far from the definition of "warrior" as you can get.

Guns firing or ejecting intact cartridges is practically a comic book staple at this point. I can understand Being off with designs because of unfamiliarity, or crazy outlandish gun designs, but the bullets thing is pretty terrible. It's really the simplest thing about a gun, a cartridge goes in, bullet goes out.

Just noticed they even got the title of the movie wrong.

considering it has the release date listed as "Summer 2015" and the logo they used to reveal the movie at the bottom I'm gonna say that was made shortly after it was announced and before they changed the name like 4 times.

On the topic of "artists who are kinda rear end in a top hat-y", who was that one guy who got fired from DC and decided to try his luck with a webcomic about a game dev studio populated with the most generic characters ever (hot chick, beardo, guy dressed like an orc...) and the whole thing became oddly political/religious and at the end turned into an ad for "smart" water...?

Wasn't that "Electronic Tigers" or something like that, and made by the same dude who did those unintentionally amazing Right/Left/Center political comics?

The cover may suck, but the art in the book is good and more importantly so is the writing. It’s been a really fun book so far.

I don't know how comic book companies work but given how Greg Land was the cover artist for the book before hand, as well as being the cover artist for Mystery in Madripoor (which is also good, btw) and now this, the entire thought process of the guy in charge of covers seems to be "That's the book with all the sexy ladies in it! Give it to the porno guys!"

He worked really hard at it and kept pressing himself to develop his own style. His early work is mostly a direct lift of Neal Adams with a slightly more loose approach. He's a perfect example of how you have to "know the rules" first before you can break them. He does some crazy poo poo with exaggerated anatomy and stylized rendering that always seems to work and even when it doesn't entirely hit, it's still so god damned interesting to look at.

I love the story of how he got started at Marvel, Neal Adams was leaving a book and they needed a replacement so he told them "I know this young guy who draws exactly like me, hire him"

i have put my eyes on every single issue of this comic that has been released and no those pages are a representative sample, it look like fuckin hot trash
