What did MtGOX stand to gain from shutting down the exchange and reverting trades, anyway? Seems to me that they could have just let the trades stand, one guy would have been out a (poo poo ton) of bitcoins, and they'd still have to deal with their glaring security holes, but they wouldn't be getting into the kind of hot water they are now. Or maybe I'm misinterpreting the poo poo they're in, and it's more about the glaring security holes to begin with?

It's surprising that nobody competent has tried to make a Bitcoin exchange. Seems like anyone with any level of professionalism could probably easily outdo any of these guys, and even though bitcoins at the end of the day are complete bullshit, there's a decent amount of money to be made by charging people to trade their buttcoins.

I think Bruce is actually pretty down with interviewing Atlas. I think he is just too lazy to schedule an interview based on the suggestion of the chat. Someone registered on the bitcoin forum should contact atlas and tell him to seek Bruce out for publicity

Anyway for what it's worth I was the one that emailed Atlas and Bruce. I kept the email respectful, I think this is something that will be both the funniest thing in all of Bitcoin Show, and a pretty good person for Bruce to interview. I will keep you all posted if I stay in the email loop
