The Lucian aliance sucked, Stargate command can defeat the Goulds, Wraith and Ori, but it's the space mafia that can finally sneak nukes into earth. Just binged though the second half of SGU, it became a much better show. They formed a cohesive ongoing plot that wasn't lame. I wish studios/networks/cable had more faith in their shows to build a fan base. If you look at season 1 ratings of shows like Cheers and Seinfeld they would be have canceled by today's standards. It's cool though I can now catch up on wresting to get my ScyFy fix.

The first few paragraphs of this wiki are a pretty good sum up of the Lucian Alliance:

So I'm not the only one who thought Carter was a fish out of water during her run?

Carter was so badly used. Amanda Tapping was obligated to be there x amount of episodes, but it felt like the writers didn't really want her there. Carter is supposed to be the only person even smarter than McCay, but during a technical crisis she never teams up with Rodney to solve it, instead relegated to paperwork and administration bullshit. It's like hiring Einstein, but all you have him do is make coffee.

I know the writers wanted her to be the only one smarter than McKay but from just re watching all of Atlantis and sg-1 MaKay's exploits blow her out of the water. He did everything in like 30 seconds. Need to rewrite the replicator base code? No problem. Need to reconfigure a jumper to shield instead of cloak? Give him 30 seconds.

The be fair most of the time McCay was working with Ancient technology, while Carter was working with the equivalency of stick and stones, McCay most of the time wasn't doing so much invention as in understanding Ancient technology (which buttons to press).

Could you imagine the bromance McCay and Jackson would have had? ::shudder::

Morally I'd say Jackson and Beckett were pretty similar, so I would think it would be like the McCay/Beckett relationship.

Didn't think emancipation was that bad, certainly not as bad as Space Race, god that episode was so bad.

Space Race seemed super out of place. It was like they did a cross over with some other sci fi show with its own aliens, mythology and background history.

Also X-Files and reams of other shows. I remember back in the BSG thread we used to call all the scenes with Helo on Caprica "Cylon Occupied Canada".

X-Files also featured Don S. Davis as Scully's father, who in the first episode I ever saw of the show died of a heart attack. He died of the same thing in real life (and in the alt-reality of 2010 IIRC) :tinfoil:

Don S. Davis was also Dana Elcar's body double (MacGyvers's boss in MacGyver).

Someone posted this in the last universe thread and I ended up watching it like 50 times. It's pretty much the best Stargate video ever with all 3 series in it.

I usually hate Youtube clip montages set to non show music but this was really well done.

I want an SG series where Teal'c uncomfortably watches The Vagina Monologues in a time loop.
