:yeah: And that's why Disney needs to stop making their movies pander to children and pay attention to the demographics that actually matter. People in their 20's.

It's going to pander to both of them. And their parents. These aren't mutually exclusive objectives. They've been doing this for the better part of a century already. Do you think Lion King would be a culture touchstone if it was exclusively for kids to the point of actively repulsing adults? It's Furry Hamlet for christ's sake.

This shouldn't be strange to you, person posting in a thread about a video game from the 90s. Video games are "for kids", and yet we're here with cyberpunk with identity issues as a core plot element in a video game from nearly 20 years ago.

Probably not having Mix, which is practically an auto-win button if used correctly.

Primarily Quartet of 9 and Trio of 9999 which make every number-producing action like healing or attacking always deal 9,999.

But you also have things like

  • Final Elixir, fully restoring and reviving everyone
  • Ultra NulAll, putting all four Nul-elements and applying 5 levels of every stat-up llike cheer on everyone
  • Hyper Vitality, double HP and 5 Cheers for everyone
  • Hyper Mighty G, Protect, Shell, Haste, Regen, and Auto-Life for everyone
  • Hot Spurs and Eccentrick, which boost Overdrive fill rate. And stack with each other and weapon abilities
  • Mixes like Burning Soul that hit 9 times. The Quartet of 9 effects makes these deal 89,991

Not to mention Use's rude moves on its own, or Steal and Bribe's effects on resource management.

Like "how do I defeat the Sanctuary Keeper?" shouldn't be "Rikku uses some mix and we gently caress him up" and that shouldn't be the answer for every other boss too once she joins.

Diamond Fire barely would've done it, dealing about 612 damage to Rufus's 500 HP.

However,

code:
AI: Counter - Death
{
Print Message [Rufus "Heh... That's all for today..."]
   Choose Self
   Use <(Report)> on Target
<(Report)> is the animation for boarding the helicopter. Rufus is impossible to kill as he just flies away whenever anyone tries.

Actually the only time Sep is encountered as an enemy while using his sword form is the final fight with Cloud, even then, if someone would confirm it for me, Seph can only take a portion of Clouds health.

Therefore swords man Seph when faced as an enemy, can use attack which only does a faction of the damage on an enemy, hence why he just crippled Tzeng.

There's the Kalm flashback, but that was the amalgamation of Cloud and Zack's memories of the Nibelheim incident.

Considering it make Sephiroth and Vincent internally the same lifeform and the Masamune into a gun I don't think it's an accurate representation.

Oh my god the only times we, the player, ever see Sephiroth use the Masamune - the Cloud's flashbacks, the final battle - are all in Cloud's mind.

But the actual Masamune, data-wise, is a gun. And video game internal data never lies.

The sword's design has been mocked for its comical length but that's because it's not a sword at all. It only appears as a sword because Zack created that perception of SOLDIER first-class fighting with swords, and the sword's length is exaggerated just like every aspect of Sephiroth is - a combination of worship, awe, and dread.

Really, Sephiroth was one hell of a sharpshooter!

And that's why the EU is so detestable, the creators forgot their own universe! Cloud and Sephiroth shouldn't even be able to GET in a sword fight!

The most reliable witnesses are a 15-year-old girl who thinks this screams "reliable mountain guide" instead of "cowboy-themed porno" who was severely injured in a chaotic situation, and a schizophrenic who believes himself to have had a first strike materia.

Set it to Battle Without Honor or Humanity, and make the slaps ridiculous shockwave-producing affairs where mountains crack miles away from the sheer force with which Scarlet slaps Tifa, then Tifa retaliates and sparks fly and Costa del Sol is destroyed, resulting in the Costa del Reconstrucción sidequest wherein Cloud & company fund the rebuilding and eventually expansion of the city.

E: Costa Del Sol doesn't show up in Advent Children or Dirge of Cerberus so it wouldn't violate the EU canon, either.

That "Life-Mechanoid" naming scheme is interesting since Lifeform Hojo is called "Lifeform Hojo N" officially. I forget if the "N" was in the original Playstation release but it definitely has that connection to those Tokusatsu influences with the letters and whatnot in the names.

His Japanese name is 極限生命体宝条N. The N is extremely deliberate. The translated name is basically Ultimate Lifeform Hojo N, keeping with what Elentor said about name construction.

The concept art does resemble some of the stuff Elentor posted.
