No, that was exactly it. Remember when Eren couldn't transform when he was down in the well, away from the sunlight?

Dude, Eren's first transformation was from the inside of a giant's stomach. Sunlight's not an issue. He couldn't transform in the well because he didn't have a 'need' that would be met by transforming. Didn't they explicitly state this?

This manga is loving amazing.

Did Eren not know about the plan? Is that why he says what he says? Or does he just not want it to be true?

I got the feeling that he knew the plan, but desperately wanted Armin to be wrong about Annie being the female giant.

Yeah, I saw that on the title page this week and was hoping it was just like an extra in volume 7 or something. I'm sure it will be awful.

Volume 1 comes out in June and is 6 bux on Amazon, so there's no reason to not buy it!

I know I'll be buying this on day 1, but "Attack on Titan"? Really? :cmon:

I mean why was she there? Why were they there? Reiner and Bert should've been at the wall to break it. Once its broken they have no safety against Titans so they should've hid behind the second wall.

Basically how does: They break the wall -> They make it back to their now unsafe village -> They're surprised a titan killed their family (Ymir is there cus ???) -> go into military occur.

I think this is the order: They're surprised a titan killed their family (Ymir is there cus ???) -> They break the wall -> go into military

Ymir munching on their friend probably occurred outside the walls entirely. It's likely where their home village is. They wanted to destroy the walls and kill all the humans within, so Bert and Ernie broke the wall and used the resulting confusion to blend in with the survivors and infiltrate society.

I wonder how the hell the Scouting Legion plans to stop Reiner and Bert.

They could both single-handedly clobber the entire group in open combat.

That's true if Bert and Ernie were bringing their A game, but the two aren't exactly in the best condition right now. They've had like no food or sleep for a day, and they're surrounded by other titans that are also going to try to kill them. All the scouting legion has to do is grab Eren and they win. It'll be interesting to see how this all pans out.

I kind of wish Eren and Misaka would take more of a backseat to the rest of the cast. They're just so one-note and unlikable compared to the more complex human-titans and the mysterious background of Christa and how she fits in to the politics of that world. Misaka's murderface can be pretty badass, I guess, but she and Eren are basically leaving their empathy at the door for anyone who doesn't agree with them, which makes them worse than soldiers following orders or animals following their instincts. They're making a choice not to give a poo poo and that makes them worse than any titan we've encountered. It wouldn't be so bad if there was actual depth to those characters, but there isn't and they're so one-note it's just boring.

When Eren got gagged last issue I was happy as heck because now the grown-ups can talk and give up some exposition and character moments instead of "I'LL MURDER DEATH KILL EVERYONE MURDER KILL KILL KILL RAGE"

Eren and Mikasa had their hometown destroyed and their family and friends eaten by titans thanks to Bert, Ernie, and Abby. It's kind of understandable that they don't give a poo poo about how remorseful they might feel about it. The others are more willing to listen because they haven't had their lives devastated the way Eren's and Mikasa's have been.

I don't think that Eren had much of a choice at that point but to stand and fight. Could he really have ridden to safety? I think Annie would probably have caught him even faster if he'd tried to escape.

Not to mention that the only reason Levi and Mikasa showed up was because of Eren's roar. Dude would have been proper hosed if he hadn't transformed.

Am I the only one who did not feel that bad for Marco? Admittedly, he died a very gruesome death and what the trio did to him was terrible. At the same time though, had he done anything else other than directly confront them, it would have been a better outcome. He should have just reported what he heard to Levi and the captain and they may have been able to develop a plan.

My take on it was that he confronted them out of surprise and confusion, and caught on midway through the conversation that he'd actually heard something serious and needed to get out of there fast. He put most of the pieces together shortly before he got ambushed. He was just really unlucky that no one else was close by.

I like the callback when Levi cuts Zeke out of his titan, he removes his arms and legs like he planned to with Eren.

Don't know why people are upset. Mule titan was always nearby getting rocks for Zeke. Everything that happened in the chapter is narratively consistent. Levi hesitated because he wanted to save Erwin over killing Zeke.

I'm not upset because it's inconsistent. I'm upset because godfuckingdamnit Levi this is the second time in like ten minutes you hosed up the kill on a titanshifter, step up your game
