I just had to post this here because I"m shocked someone would call me out by name in the local paper because they disagree with me. I'm Jason in the letter referenced below, and I'll post the original letter below his to show what kind of community we have in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Terry posted:

On April 10, the Bee published a letter from young Jason [redacted], unfortunately from Sandpoint. Little Jason espoused a deep-rooted dislike for the founders, the Constitution, and evidently everything American over the last two centuries.

Though youthful, he exhibits a hatred and mantra-spewing class envy, decrying the despicability of “rich, white, land-owning men” right from the sermons of Jeremiah Wright.

He maintains that viewing the U.S. Constitution as the core body of law and governmental structure of the land is “very harmful to the progress of the country.” Rather, Jason, as do older more cynical socialists, sees the Constitution as but a minor inconvenience while they are in power. They indeed view it as a “living” document, something definable day to day as they wish, imagine, or would like it to be.

The founders for whom Jason has such disdain struggled enormously and, at times bitterly, to frame what turned out to be the most prodigiously liberating governmental system in human experience.

They recognized the lowest impulses of governments and men would attempt to erode or destroy what had been done. They made the Constitution amendable only through an immensely difficult, nationwide process. Be assured, they had no intention that the Constitution be subject to whimsical interpretations nor flights of fancy by leftists to come.

Some might say that the hatching of a new socialist is cute, as we watch them first struggle, and then abandon a quest for rationality. In the end though an America-hating class-envy spouter is sad to behold.

Here is the letter I wrote a few weeks ago to give you an idea in to how much he literally lies in his letter. That doesn't really bug me though, it's the fact that it got him so mad that he called me out BY NAME in a community I'm trying to grow my insurance practice in, just to try to slander me. What the hell.

It doesn't mean those items listed in that sentence are the ideas themselves. I think anyone reading the context of the letter would know that I meant the ideas they had on the topic of womens suffrage, Native American lands, etc. meant that their particular ideas are anathema. They didn't put it in the drat Constitution.

I agree it could be more clear, but I think in context the point is made. However, you'll note that has nothing to do with the criticisms in the letter posted. Grawr.

Vince: My family has been in this country since the late 1700's....fought, died, sweat, and blood. This citizenship rule for the president was to maintain a loyal citizen in the white house....a huge position of power and responsibility....and a very wise rule by our founding fathers. Only a traitor who wishes to undermine our constitution would disrespect the founders of this country.

I love peoples :)
