The flo rida song they play with the kroger commercial bothers me a lot. The editing for the song is terrible.

The phone lands in some soft dirt, like I hope it wouldn't break from that. Show this phone bouncing down some stairs or something if you're going to brag about how awesome your phone screens are.

I have never broken or cracked a screen, ever, and I've dropped phones in parking lots and on sidewalks and stuff. Am I just super lucky?

Basically, yes. I also had a good run of dropping phones but not breaking them until one day it just landed wrong and completely shattered the screen.

Itís the weirdest thing. A decade of smartphone usage and not a single crack or scratch, and thatís with using them at bars and on subways where itís most likely to be dropped. And man have I dropped mine plenty.

I chipped the corner of a smartphone once, but it was only really noticeable if you were inspecting the phone for damages, otherwise I've apparently been lucky.

On the other hand, back in the day when you could remove the batteries from phones, I would knock my phone off of a coffee table and yard sale the fucker like I had gibbed it in Unreal Tournament.

I went years with no damage and didn't even use a case.

Then I dropped a phone a month into owning it. Now I always use a case and haven't damaged a phone hardly in 5 years. OK I melted the screen a little in a welding incident but it's just a little mark.

Back before smart phones I had a flip phone for a few years. On vacation I wandered into the ocean to play with my son. I forgot my swimsuit and just wore an old well-fitting pair of cargo shorts. With my wallet and phone in the pockets. For 15 minutes.

Got myself a brand new iPhone and dried my money with a towel and my shorts.
Has been the only electrical device I ever damaged.

I tend to ride my phones into the ground--starting in 2010, I've gone from an OG Motorola Droid, to a Droid RAZR, to a Moto X, to a Moto G5+, so four phones in 11 years--and I've never cracked a screen or otherwise broken a phone from a drop.

My ex-wife, though, managed to crack either her iPhone's shell or the screen at least once a year. I got real tired of paying those phone replacement costs after a while.

Eerily similar, I went for more than a decade without a case and no damage, figured it made me more cautious with it. Then dropped my new phone twice on the same vacation, got a screen repair and a caseóbut I miss living on the edge sometimes

Both of these ads give me anxiety. (And so does the singing hood ornament, but I canít articulate why exactly.)

This might be a cheat because itís local, but imagine having to see and hear this horrible screeching imp during every other commercial break:
