Not quite "backyard", but here's some of the chickens at my friend's allotment  I'm not sure how many chickens they have now as I've not been in like a year, but at the time these photos were taken they had a bunch of plain ol' chickens and some adorable silkies.

Inveigle posted:^^^ Those chickens seem pretty interested in you. Were they expecting treats? It was feeding time, and they are (or were, last time I was there) pretty friendly critters anyway! If I owned this chicken I would literally (try to) use it as a pillow.
