I was surprised to not see GIMP for OS X included in the OP, now that 2.8.0 packages for Mac are out.

Can we add Libreoffice to the OP? Different flavor than iWork, but a viable alternative to Office for many basic users (I use it exclusively, as do many people I've introduced it to).

Thank You to this thread for the Alfred and the Safari addons.
Does anyone know of a Safari addon similar to HTTPS-Everywhere (http://eff.org/https-everywhere) for Firefox/Chrome?

I concur that GIMP is not any good for OSX.

Decius posted:

SALR does a lot more (no idea about the Safari version as I don't use Safari, talking about the Chrome and FF-versions), like colouring your posts if cited, coloring your posts period, colouring the posts of the OP, Mods, Admins, converting links to pics (configurable for spoilers/NMS/NWS), removing footer/header of the forum, allowing you to navigate with mouse gestures, thread filtering, quick navigation, quick reply, ignore threads, remove links...

I don't use any of the other features, but SALR on Safari makes the forums look much more pleasant for me.

Since Apple gets a cut of the resulting App Store purchase revenue, they now have an incentive to make the OS upgrade as cheap as possible. That revenue stream did not exist in the pre-App Store days.
