Make it red, make it blue, make it a pony.

Eastdrom posted:I'm helping my mate build a website to sell guitar pedals, so he can step his business up a notch. The design itself is alright, if a little stale, but that font simply doesn't work for the body copy. The kerning is wack and the extra bulk on some letters, especially t, throws off the flow of the words. Also I assume the final web layout will be different, but it doesn't scale at all properly. On a really small resolution it cuts off the bottom of the image in the header, and on a huge resolution it cuts off the top of the header image somehow. I'd personally go without the spray effect on the letters, because you don't always need to make things 'unique', especially if your going with a pretty clean layout otherwise. If you do keep it, it'd look much better if you did a bit more to it than having the same spray on the letter O every time it's there. You've definitely got a starting point to work from though.

While this is a thing, I wouldn't mind reading peoples comments on my one of these:

Sentient Data posted:May as well necro this thread since there doesn't seem to be a more appropriate live one. I've been asked to work on a logo for a company that deals with B2B software services, so I've tried to throw together something professional and clean. I know typography-based are pretty boring, but figured I may as well throw this one to the sharks and see what you think. The burst element looks nice and it's a perfectly normal boring logo. The kerning on the r and d at the end seems maaaaybe a little far, but mostly the colour versions are some ugly rear end colours and it's putting me right off. The blue/white one looks aight though, even if it does scream facebook

That circle doesn't look actually circular, and it looks Christmassy as heck with those colours. As for font I'd consider using something more scalable. That one is going to be hell to read at a lower size.

That green and orange one is miles better, but the fork is now nearly impossible to see. The circle still isn't round either. Still, a massive improvement. I wonder if getting rid of the circle entirely, and simplifying the shape of the state to make that the main element wouldn't make the whole thing a lot less busy though.

That's a weird size ratio between graphic and text

A lot of stuff used to get taken down on red bubble with no warning for ip complaints, so be aware of that I guess.
