I see Peaches is doing the low % Quest 64 run again.

I don't know the mechanics of the game at all. Why does he sometimes run away from enemies and other times just stand around while they chip away his health and kill him?

The best is when his drunken roommates/friends drop in while he's playing.

If people want to watch a really painful speedrun stream, be sure to check out Caracarn's runs of FFX.

So far he's been alternating between single segment and segmented runs.

For the single segment run, he completed the game in 10 hours and 46 minutes in one sitting on the weekend. He then tried again the next day and had his PS2 crash at almost 7 hours in. Ouch.

On the segmented side, he finally completed part 18 the other day.
It only took 401 attempts to complete the 5 minutes of in game time for that segment.

Fun stuff.

I wish I still had a working PSOne. There are some good candidates for speed running there.

Jurassic Park: Lost World, for example, was a nice mix of entertaining to watch, yet ball numbingly difficult at times.

What does it mean on some of these TAS videos when it says that the final video took 60,000+ re-records attempts?

Due to save states it's not like they have to start over at the beginning when something doesn't go right like regular speedrunners do, so it must be something else.

If you want to a watch a run that was ruined by Jman, watch the ShadowWraith's Unreal run from this year's AGDQ.

Thankfully, it looked like he got bored and left when Peaches ran System Shock 2 next.

CaneofPacci is attempting a 100% run of Crash Bandicoot 1.

http://www.twitch.tv/caneofpacci

Getting all the gems means having to get every crate and restarting at the beginning of a level if you die a single time due to the way the game handles checkpoints.

For anyone who hasn't played the game, the game's controls and physics are pretty much made of bullshit, so to perfect the game in one sitting is quite a feat.
