I think my problem with things turning out ahistorically so often is that it robs you of a certain feeling of player agency. For example, would you rather persevere as the Kingdom of Jerusalem because you're good at the game or because the A.I. is a dipshit retard or programmed weirdly? I suppose my ideal historical game would be one were events would play out like they would in history if not for player decisions, with some events being more difficult to prevent or change than others. Of course, such a game's A.I. would probably be nigh impossible to code, but that's why it's an ideal. I certainly wouldn't want to be the guy charged with programming all of China's possible reactions to Genghis convincing all the Mongols to take up farming or what happens when Muhammad invades India or some crazy poo poo like that.

If Wiz didn't want this sort of thing, then wouldn't he just stop putting stuff up for a vote? A lot of people are joking about tolerance, but I don't think that's the primary reason for it. There are good, solid gameplay reasons to vote for B, tolerance of heretics made the most sense when we were conquering Christians, and ecumenism lost out to siege engineers. So, let's all be nice and not get all butthurt over other people having fun voting for something, okay?

Please don't be a dick to people just because you don't favor the direction they want to go in The Saurus (or anyone else). That's part of the reason real life politics become such a mess. You may be joking, but it is really hard to tell and it can lead to pointless bickering. Can we all please at least be polite to each other?

No one, really. But you've been consistently needlessly antagonistic, and I'm politely asking you to stop, or at least tone it down. That's all.

Adyen posted:Maybe he only wears one crown but has the crests chisled into each of the crown's points so he'd be wearing a crown with the crests of each kingdom on each point. He should melt them all down, have the result spun into metal thread, and then have the thread woven into the fabric of a pimpin' robe or some poo poo. The gems would be imbedded into it as well somehow. That way he'd be able to literally wear all the "crowns" at once. Edit: I'd think they'd just change the heraldry to a map of the world, with the words, "This is mine, gently caress off." written around it. paragon1 fucked around with this message at 10:51 on Nov 13, 2011 |
