I never use horses but I do watch a lot of Hermitcraft videos. I think it was either Mumbo or Xisuma who used both a simple 4X4 pit. which when you get off the horse it drops you outside on ground. Or at base you use a 3 block high space with a slab on bottom and top. This leaves a 2 block space but the horse only sees a 1 block space.. I think you take damage riding it in, but its negligible.

i play on a Dell laptop with a lovely video/processor. Java version can be a little slow for me, even vanilla with lowered graphics. The microsoft version plays quite well with much higher graphics.
If they allowed the new version to be modded I would be a very happy camper.

ark is pretty popular, pixark seems to be the same game but with deformable terrain and minecraft graphics, yet I never hear about it. Is it unplayably buggy? Did Minecraft people just not notice it?

I actually have below min specs and it kinda plays ok for me. Takes forever to start(not unlike Minecraft) but plays fine. Its not a bad game, though maybe if it ran a little better I would play it more. Plays pretty much like a slightly dumbed down version of Ark.

A great pack - it's almost perfect for me - is A Little Taste of Jerm (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/texture-packs/a-little-taste-of-jerm). It does my favorite thing, which is allowing for big walls of the same texture to have separate variations, which makes certain things (notably big cobble boxes and the nether) look amazing. It's also fantastic with Optifine using blended textures, because you can get a real nice blend along edges that looks suuuuper good (example 1 - example 2). The only thing I don't like about it is that the path blocks get a kinda dirty, laid-with-stones texture, because the textures look good but I like to use path blocks specifically for the yellow-y beaten dirt feel.

For anyone who watches Youtubers, this is baaaaasically very similar to BdoubleO100's custom texture pack in a lot of ways, but it has the benefit of "being available right now"

Anyone know of a fishing farm that works on the latest Win10 version? I tried like 4 different ones yesterday and nothing seems to work.
The tripwire ones seem like they would work but the size of the tripwire has changed or something, its like 1/2 block bounding box now.

And they others may work but they seem to require a clicker program, which i'd rather not do.

Are there more than one End portal locations in a seed? If so, how can I get the eyes to look somewhere other than the first portal? Does it have to be opened up to deactivate from that location finder?

There should be at least 3 strongholds in a seeds, not sure if this changes in later versions.
You just have to to be closer to the other stronghold/end portal for it to register.
All 3 should be within or near 1000 blocks of spawn.

gently caress, I almost did that but did it by right clicking icon in start menu instead last night.
It wouldnt work for me when it was supposed to unlock last night, so i un/reinstalled in a last ditch effort to get it to work.
As it turns out, the people who paid extra for the Hero Edition...it unlocked 1 hour later than everyone else.

Played a bit with goons and it was fairly fun.
I felt a little underpowered at first as the others had played more than me and had better items.
But after a few maps I had picked up a few levels and better items and felt stronger.

Over all, I enjoyed it.
It was good team fun.

You can jump into games of people who you have friended on Xbox (which has a pc app, so you dont need an xbox).
I don't see any way to put in an IP or search or anything.

No Realms or anything like that.

There are no options for passworded sessions or anything.
If you start the session and you have a friend with it, then they can jump right in at any point.

You have Skins, Worlds and texture packs.
If you use the world mod, it loads a generated map.
You can use Skins and (I think) Texture packs on top of that.

I don't think you can mix behavior packs from 2 different worlds.

I may be wrong though, I only have 1 mod with a world (Jurassic Steel).
So can't really test it out, but dont see a way to load 2 different world mods.

Aaaand while screwing around, I went to delete the test world and I assume through a weird refresh or something it deleted my main world.
And there seems to be no way to recover a deleted win10 edition world.
Any google search for win10 specific tells you to go to appdata\.minecraft which is the java edition

Take a step in and start getting attacked by skeletons and piglins.
It almost looks modded.

Suggested before exploring the nether too far, though you can do it at any time, is to get some armor with fire protection on it. Which means enchanting table.
The new nether is a lot more dangerous than it used to be.

Maybe start a mob farm or two if you can find a zombie/skeleton spawner.
And start collecting some ender pearls.
