A new band that I discovered recently is Merchandise. They are kind of hard to find on the internet, but you can score both of their albums for free download from their label's site. http://katorgaworks.bigcartel.com/ - Just click on an album and there will be a link for it. Their first album, Strang Songs (In The Dark) is a dark, shoegaze album with elements of pop vocals that remind me of New Order / Joy Division a bit. They go a little more poppy on their latest album, but sound like a tighter more defined band. Highly recommended.
