I figured you all would want to hear about this band if you hadn't already:

Their debut album just came out a couple days ago, but aside from the production values, it sounds like it could've been made in the late 80s / early 90s. Amazing stuff.

Blouse is great, pretty cool live too. She kinda talks exactly like her singing voice :psyduck:

They were pretty into it when I saw them ymmv v:shobon:v

Bear in Heaven was amazing though. The main dude really got the crowd into it and they did two encores!

This was a couple weeks ago in LA.

Since someone mentioned Ringo Deathstarr on page 1:

Wow, stunning song and video. Thanks for posting this. I ordered the EP immediately.

If you happen to be in LA, they're going to be in a free show Monday night at the bootleg bar.

If anyone liked that 2:54 video I posted the album is well worth getting, the album kinda conveys that sound throughout. I'm really liking DIIV at the minute and yes it's because pitchfork gave them a good review, well worth checking out I would describe the album as Real Estate meets Deerhunter

Yeah they've got members from Beach Fossils and Smith Westerns. And yeah I feel kinda lame when I listen to top Pitchfork stuff too...

Ooh. She's on tour right now, too - but there's no way I can catch her on Black Friday here in LA, drat it.

Ah cool. To bad Young Prisms aren't playing with her though. Bonus it's the echo and not the lousy echoplex.

I'm seeing Tamaryn, the Soft Moon, and the Raveonettes tonight. Should be aweeesome.

Whaaat, what a good lineup.

I might also go to the 5/3 Tamaryn show, but I always hate when stuff's at the echoplex, the space always feels too empty.

There's a Japanese shoegaze band named Meeks that recently released an album dedicated to covers of Beatles tunes. I'm not sure if shoegaze versions of Beatles songs has been done before, but it was pretty interesting to listen to!

So cool! You can buy the CD off amazon for almost 70 dollars :psyduck:

It's from some random seller but still.

I went and saw Vivian girls and there were literally no lights on; the band asked people to shine their iphone flashlights on the stage...

It was also hot.

There's a new Tashaki Miyaki video out, more low-key and dream poppy than some of their other stuff but I like it:
