You had it right. Kind of sucked that it split the community a bit there, with Revelations having a stacked AE field and a mediocre MvC3 field.

At least MLG and NCR will have different focus on the games being played? I don't think there's too much overlap in the crowds for KOF+MK+SC and Capcom games. It will hurt NCR's numbers for sure though.

It's already at $6k in the first day, so they're off to a good start at least. It may get more exposure and backers after it's shown at Evo, too.

For those talking about netplay vs story mode last page, Keits changed it so that netplay is the goal at $40k.

In the ballroom, KoF was pretty close to UMvC3 hype levels I felt. There's no way it's not back in my mind. My guess is that Evo's only going with SF4, UMvC3, KoF, and TTT2.

Wizard tweeted that the Evo 2013 trailer will be shown this weekend during NEC, so it won't be too long until the details are out.

edit: Just remembered that VF5 top 3 and an Injustice demo were on stage on Sunday. I think PSAS (Maj worked on it too) and Injustice top 3-4 will get that treatment next year.

I think that interest in SFxT got higher (not by much, but still higher) after Evo. The Capcom anniversary series started a few weeks after Evo and is 1v1 which is easier to practice for. Now there's more money up for grabs and the new patch coming up.

IPL has Capcom's support and has treated top players well this, flying people out for SxSW, San Diego Comic Con, and now IPL 5. I'm thinking attendance will be just fine, probably drawing international interest too.

edit: With Mad Catz becoming a sponsor, I'm sure they're going to be bringing in as many of their sponsored players and teams as possible. That's Daigo, Tokido, Mago, Infiltration, Laugh, Xian, and Ryan Hart at the least.

The Capcom 25th Anniversary finals are ~~this weekend~~. Brackets are already up at http://finals.streetfighter25.com/

I'm taking AfroLegends for ST, MOV for 3S, Daigo for AE, and Justin for SFxT.

BrenoFighters from Brazil wasn't able to get a visa, so they gave his spots to the LA third place finishers based on Capcom deeming it the most difficult qualifier and ability to confirm travel: Vangief in AE, and Jibbo in SFxT.

edit: \/ The flyer says December 8 10AM-9PM Pacific. My guess is that the tournaments start around noon Pacific.

Also, Justin and Marn are staying at the FGTV house all week. Right now https://www.twitch.tv/fgtvlive is Marn vs PR Rog in UMvC3.

James Chen was tweeting about it so I looked at the totals now. MLP is still in the lead with $3850, but right now the eighth slot would go to Skullgirls! It's up to $3550 now. Melee is at $3076.

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere else: The donations are only open until the end of the month.

Ledge grab limit is a part of the Brawl rule set as far as I know, which honestly is just watching Apex the last two years after Capcom games finished. There's also something about controller port choice because throw priority is determined by port or something like that.

With Melee, which I played a little bit of, there was just no items and something like six stages available for first game random select, then a few more available for counter picks.

MrWizard is one of the guys that run Evo, and he's looking for input on what rules to use. A lot of the posts are just random people posting things but the last page I read had Wizard agreeing to 4 stock, 6 minute timer (which is what they used in 2007 anyway).

From what I remember as an occasional player and V-Sakura user, V-ism was ridiculously overpowered. The invincibility of the startup of custom combos, damage of CCs, and potential for crouch cancel infinites made it the -ism of choice for all the best characters other than Dhalsim.
