Clive Burr (the first drummer from Iron Maiden) passed away last night, which sucks  He's had MS for a long time now so I'm not incredibly surprised, but it's still lovely news. I feel he contributed significantly to the core Maiden sound, particularly regarding the gallopping sound with the drums and bass playing rhythmically together.Sad day

Yeah just saw that. Really sad but he's been sick for a long time. At least he's not suffering anymore. I love those first couple of Maiden albums, and the drumming is a big part of that.

I've seen them before about a year or so ago and I like their album, but it's just a matter of driving 8 hours back that sucks. Came across this new Finnish band Lost Society. Their debut album is streamable here, just scroll down a bit and you'll see the player. A bunch of eighteen year old guys playing some speedy thrash metal, and goddamnit they make it work. Tons of energy, tasty riffs and zero loving around.
