And thanks for the recommendations guys, I'll be sure to check them out once I can stop listening to Arkham Witch for a while.

I am Fat Man, hear me roar!

Clive Burr (the first drummer from Iron Maiden) passed away last night, which sucks :( He's had MS for a long time now so I'm not incredibly surprised, but it's still lovely news. I feel he contributed significantly to the core Maiden sound, particularly regarding the gallopping sound with the drums and bass playing rhythmically together.

Sad day :(

Yeah just saw that. Really sad but he's been sick for a long time. At least he's not suffering anymore. I love those first couple of Maiden albums, and the drumming is a big part of that.

Good to see someone repping Skullfist, Cauldron, Shotgun Cure and Untimely Demise (I don't know the others). All good dudes who make good music! If you want to check out some other really good Canadian speed metal bands, Stinger (Calgary), Gatekrashor (Calgary) and Striker (Edmonton) are all pretty sweet.

I've seen them before about a year or so ago and I like their album, but it's just a matter of driving 8 hours back that sucks. I'm leaving at around 3 or 4am tomorrow morning and am very much looking forward to the brutality that I will be faced with. Going to hang with my buddies in Goemagot and interview Barrett Amiss II of Sevared Records.

Crust. Metal. Anarchism. Ska??? Yes, ska. Dirty, filthy, pissed-off ska. Not the most likely of combinations, but it works. Very well, in fact. These ultra radical hardcore anarchists come from Victoria BC, the home of some of the most intensely political bands in Canada. End progress is the soundtrack to an insurrection in the streets.
