Dude this band Helgamite is insane, I've played with them whenever I roll through Virginia. The first time blew my mind though, right after a crazy guitar solo, he picked up a sax and blasted out this delayed sax solo, and then straight back into the crushing intro riff.

Its the second song on this record with the sax, the whole album kicks rear end. https://helgamite.bandcamp.com/album/hypnagogia

Yeah, I heard about that. Blew me away when I saw a Kuma's Indy shirt at a show. I posted in a long ago edition of this thread the regrettable decision to order a Slayer burger.

I mentioned Lockdown because they came across as the safer, less crowded Kuma's when I first went.

Also, forgot to mention I had FFF's Cannibal Corpse beer one time. That was also pretty good.

I tripped on acid at the Indy one with the dudes from Telekinetic Yeti, I think I started ranting about how much those burgers were, and started slamming gin and tonics to chill the gently caress out. Then we walked back to the air bnb, and it started snowing, we watched Heat, and I did a bunch of dishes. I had a good time.

Ithyphallic is my favorite, it has some sick doom riffs over blast beats, and the standard Nile fast riffs. Also 11 string fretless guitar for those insane slides Karl is doing all over the place.

I'm gonna throw this thread-controversial statement right out there:

Nile is nu-metal

Nile did basically doom metal with double bass for a hot minute.

Thanks! I'm the vocalist/guitarist.

My favorite part is this time I was actually able to buy the original painting, which he paints on wood. Just gotta get it framed now.

Thats the one thing that was disappointing about our first album artwork by Dan Seagrave, he keeps all the originals...but he did make art prints of it at least so I could get one of those framed.

Hell yeah Adam Burke rules, he did the album art for a band I was in.

Heres a rundown I did in Charlottesville with my old band, 3 (!!) years ago, pretty much all different these days. Also I look hagard as gently caress because that was day 25ish~ of a 37 day tour, it was nuts.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_6DtKkx86Q&t=1298s

Current setup that I used last tour is this Hilbish Beta Preamp, which is the Sunn Beta Bass preamp circuit, into a Crown power amp, powering the 2x10 2x12 2x15 Electric cab, then a Geddy Lee bass, tuner, and then straight in. Very simple setup, I hate complicated rigs, there's nothing worse onstage than everyone watching while you try to find which cable is messed up on your giant pedal board. I use the same rig for guitar, just adding a delay pedal, usually a Boss DD variant.

Edit: I also have a new band (really more of a collective of musicians with me as supreme dictator) called Abject Terror, I'm finishing recording and mixing my first release, I should have it done by the end of this month. I'm going to do very little social media, but I do have an email list. I'm going to be sending a lot of extra stuff through the email list, demos, alternate versions, updates of the next record, so if yall wanna sign up just shoot me an email with the subject Goon or something to that effect, and I'll make an exclusive SA package for y'all that are interested. The music is all over the place, this first release is mostly doomy. Next release is going to be combining my band with my friends Monte Luna, and I'm going to start recording that next month.

New single from my bros in Monte Luna, guitarist in my old band is doing the weird solos and deeper vocal parts. I added some crazy guitar feedback on another song on this album.

Even by this band's standards this is absolute loving amateur hour garbage

A guy I toured with use to live in LA and saw the guitarist (one in the sunglasses in that video) sitting in the corner looking rough as hell about 6 years ago. This is when they first blew up, and he recognized him from the fire and the flames video. He sits down and starts chatting it up with the dude, and he literally starts crying in the bar. So my friend is trying to chill him out and ask what's wrong? The dude spills his guts that they slowed down the recordings to play those super fast solos, and fast parts in general, and that the band literally couldn't do it live. They had just started their tour, and were about to blast around the world, and the guy was so heartbroken that everyone was gonna find out they really sucked that he was just sitting there alone drinking his face off. (Just watched that whole video, looks like nothings changed)

Just checked out Gloryhammer, too cheesy for me, I immediately shifted to Eternal Champion. Also DnD nerdy, but with a more serious take, and heavier riffs. This album owns.
