Is there anything like !T.O.O.H!?
I'm not really a fan of grindcore/deathgrind/whatever the gently caress you want to call that but the way they mix the grindy clusterfucks with riffs and solos that wouldn't feel out of place on an Iron Maiden album really appeals to me somehow.
The vocals certainly help too,I never was fond of straight-up growling and the manic way the guy sings really fits in well.

Some great tips guys, definitely gonna be checking Anaal Nathrakh and Frightmare!

On a completely different note, has anybody noticed Hell?(It's not exactly a new release by now but I haven't found anything about it in the last thread, hope I'm not making a moron out of myself.)Guess it's not for everybody seeing as it's essentially late-ish NWOBHM,but even if it's not your thing the story behind it is pretty awesome.

Not to mention that the video couldn't be more hilariously cheesy if they tried. Seriously, have they been rummaging in Cradle of Filth's garbage cans for clothes?

I need something to listen to on the go and recently, I discovered Gama Bomb. It's nothing spectacular, but I kinda dig the cheesy tongue-in-cheek thing they got going there, it's seriously fun to listen to. I know a shitton of new thrash metal bands appeared recently, but sifting through those, most of them have nothing to go for them, really.

Is there anything like this, something that wouldn't be all uber-heavy and serious, while keeping the basic thrashiness?

Thrash, huh? How about something catchy and 'fun' like whiplash, exodus, or kill em all (yeah I know but that album still owns)?

Well, I'd be a poor metalhead indeed if I didn't know about Kill Em All ( unless that is also a band) and while Exodus took me some time to get, they have a special spot on my playlists. Gonna check out Whiplash though.

Hope I won't get too many eyerolls on this, but how is King Diamond live lately? I have a chance to see him in a couple of months and I'm getting pretty psyched about it,since I'm a big fan, but what with the big gap he had and all that, I'm afraid I could be disappointed if I set the expectations too high.

New Ghost song for those interested. It's awesome.

I've only ever thought of them as a one-album gimmick deal, but drat if this isn't solid. Definitely gonna have to keep an eye on this.

I like looking up the lyrics to black metal bands where the words are basically imperceptible but turn out to be actually a huge long winded existential treatise on the universe or some such nonsense. I don't like looking up the lyrics to black metal bands where the words are basically imperceptible but turn out to be a long winded manifesto on national socialism.

I did that once and a 15 minute epic turned out to be an epic poem about humankind being destroyed by sentient processed meat products. It was a pretty fun read.

Anyone heard/cares about the new Polkadot Cadaver album, Get Possessed? I loved their older stuff but after giving this one a listen, I just get nothing, completely forgettable. Any opinions? Should I give it another spin or is it in fact poo poo?
