Here's to hoping this new one is more enjoyable for those of us who don't enjoy -core. hm, can't say i agree with that at all but i hope you enjoy the new one, i think it's great :]

"Lulu doesn't appeal to the masses because it is challenging for the listener. Those who don't "get it" won't make it through a whole song, let alone a whole album. If you like experimental, hosed up, trippy, proggy, heavy, monolouge, storytelling, concept, avante garde, structure raping, disturbed, experience music, then Lou Reed & Metallica's Lulu album is for you. If you don't like this side of music and prefer straight-forward songs, you won't find any here. loving masterpiece of an album. Really breaks new ground. Not just an album, it's an EXPERIENCE! Not everyone will like the album, it's not "accessable" to alot of people. It'll be challenging for most listeners with long, experimental songs. The album sounds loving crazy."

Depending on how into the subgenres you want to get I can do one about tech death

Technical Death Metal Description: A progressive form of death metal that focuses on guitar solos, unique time signatures, and rhythms that are usually aren't as prominent in normal death metal Regions Associated: Florida, Quebec Goon Recommendations: Death, Atheist, Necrophagist, Nile, Gorguts, The Faceless, Fleshgod Apocalypse Videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwRePCUg4Fg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utqWrkVEQvI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJ7Y4SNj6u8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EKgtDmdXH8 I know tech death can draw a lot of ire from some metal heads (wankery!!) but it's by far my favorite kind of metal. Went with classics of the genre in the recommendations, plus two of my favorite recent bands. nerve fucked around with this message at 20:58 on Oct 22, 2011 |

Dead Man Posting posted:Do me a favor and turn them back on again, check the post, and see if it is still too cluttered or messy. I added banners and it might improve the feel a bit. The banners do help quite a bit but another reason I disabled them is it was pretty slow to load the page. Once it gets to the point where it's just the OP I'll be turning embedding back on.

rxcowboy posted:These past two weeks I've been getting into some awesome bands that are new to me, but I've noticed an interesting trend: Oranssi Pazuzu is a psychedelic black metal band from Finland that I know you will enjoy. Their first album is my favorite. I absolutely love Absu so I'm going to throw a recommendation in here for them. Tara and their latest Abzu are my two favorite. Abzu has some pretty great occult lyrics if you're into that sort of thing. And finally I'll recommend Beyond Creation, some perfectly executed technical death metal from Quebec. If you dig that kind of progressive/technical sort of DM then I can't imagine you won't love this.
