If Sodom didn't play anything off M-16, I will be very disappointed. :v:

It really could use some more hooks, but I still like it.

Holy poo poo, this is different from the Blind Guardian I remember. Less atmospheric, but heavier. I like it.

Just got back in from the Gwar show. Missed American Sharks because I had to drive after work, but got there just in time to catch Corrosion of Conformity. Really digging them as a three piece again, and I loved them trolling the audience by playing Hand of Doom up to half way through the first verse before slamming straight into something else.

Non-Brockie Gwar is different but still a damned good show. Blothar's a solid front man, and I'm glad he's kayfabed in as Beefcake's dad. Also cool to see him take over bass duties for two songs, gently caress yes. Vulvatron didn't get enough stage time for me to be totally sold on her, but I can see her working out. She and Beefcake trading off on Hate Love Songs was pretty cool at least.

Crowd was pretty loving nuts. Like during a lull some random dude looks at me kinda bewildered and says something "what the gently caress's going on?" Then he goes "I was at the Slayer show and it wasn't anything like this" so I had to let him know that Gwar shows bring out a lot of crazy people. I saw a dude get crowdsurfed to the front get thrown off the stage by the band and when he came back my way he had actual blood on his head, not sure where from. It got to the point where venue security was on stage with the band, and they were tossing anyone who made it on stage out the back door.

So yeah, Gwar's still fun as poo poo.

I've always wanted to go to a GWAR concert. They had one in Philly a week or two ago but I couldn't go. Did see Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, and Exodus two Wednesdays ago though. Kickass concert, great atmosphere, and I managed to get in the pit for the first time ever.

I didn't fully appreciate Exodus' new album until I was in the pit during "Blood In, Blood Out". I've been meaning to buy it since then. Hopefully someone will surprise me with it for Christmas.

Obituary's new album is pretty kickass. Drums sound a bit off, but it's still a great album nonetheless.

Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits are drat great albums. Reign in Blood is good but not great. South of Heaven is honestly my favorite album, while Seasons in the Abyss is good. Anything after that (besides a few select songs) is pretty much okay to terrible.

Napalm Death/Voivod/Exhumed/Iron Reagan/Black Crown Initiate
Enslaved/YOB
Electric Wizard
At the Gates/Converge

Nah, RATM is pretty much unabashedly one of my favorite 90s bands. Never would consider them a guilty pleasure since they kicked so much rear end. "Know Your Enemy" and "Killing in the Name Of" still have hands down two of my favorite riffs of all time.

Mostly because the guy can't really rap.
I focus more on Morello's guitar talent so I really don't notice de la Roche's rapping faults. Seriously, if I had to pick the best member of RATM, it would probably be Tom. Guy knows how to write memorable riffs and solos.

I don't hate Pantera, nor do I like them (Hell, I was still in 2nd or 3rd grade when Dimebag was shot :v:). Most of their stuff is repetitive or just boring. However, I love Power Metal and a few select songs from their 90s days ("Cowboys", "loving Hostile", "Cemetery Gates", etc.)

So I went to Barnes and Nobles for the first time in forever and I saw they sell music now. I was expecting Metallica, Zeppelin, maybe Maiden. I was presently surprised, though. They had quite a few obscure bands (for a popular book store chain, at least). I remember seeing Diamond Head, Riot, Banshee, and even Immortal. Dunno if this is because metal is becoming more accepted-ish or what. Ended up buying JP's "Painkiller" and Dio's "Holy Diver". Would have bought more but I was short on cash.
