I need recommendations for bands that sound like either Crucifier or pre-chants de bataille Belenos.

And I guess something similar to Decieverion's selftitled release. sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVMkYDiVqH4

A quick wiki look says Jodeci is a R+B group. So there ya go, Jodeci.

I don't think you understand. All the patches on this vest are for rap/r&b stuff yes but they're all based on metal/punk band logos.

We know that it is Jodeci, we're just trying to find out which band they got that logo from. Because it looks so very familiar.

Also, as a rule r&b bands dont feature inverted crosses in their logo.

Presumably James Hetfield and Lou Reed thought it was a good idea.

It seems pretty obvious that Hetfield has reached the point in his life/career where he just does whatever he wants and gives no actual fucks about whatever fans there might be left.

Do they expect actual reviews that will tell them if something is poo poo or do they just want every thing to get high grades like metal observer does?

Volbeat is basically just metalized rockabilly. It can be fun to listen to (and for a while they got a ton of airplay here in denmark mostly with this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q2NtjoYj_U and partly because it also featured the leadsinger of a fairly popular danish post-punk band) but ultimately there isn't really a lot to it.

The vocalist used to be in Dominus which was a really solid death metal band and he even took the name from their album which was called "Vol. Beat".

Could anyone recommend where I should start digging for getting into thrash? I've been listening to Toxic Holocaust and Skeletonwitch and would like to find more like this. As these suggest, I dig the blackened thrash thing, and anything that has the same kind of rock the gently caress out feel to it like the newer Darkthrone releases, Kvelertak, etc. Aura Noir are pretty cool.

I like:

Send More Paramedics
Lich King
Artillery
Havok
Destruction

I know enough about the bigger names like Megadeth, Slayer, Metallica etc. Past these, I've heard a bit of those like Exodus, Testament, Kreator, Overkill, but don't really know where to start with all this.

Help? :)

I really wish bands would stop putting poo poo on the back of their shirts.

So many potentially good shirts are ruined by some horrible design or text on the back.

An equal number of long sleeved shirts are ruined by terribly designs going down the sleeves.

You might like the early 90s swedish death metal. The vocals are more shouty and less growly.

So far the lineup is:

Slayer

Marilyn Manson,

Lamb of God

Anthrax

Skeletonwitch

Trivium

Killswitch Engage

Korpiklaani

Of those I really only want to see Anthrax but there is still another 8 bands that haven't been named yet.

For all the bleating about Portal there is surprisingly little effort to explain why they're supposed to be good other than "you just don't get it, they're really good".

I tried listening to Portal when the thread here was all buzzing about Outré and I thought it was a terribly boring album with a really bad production job.

Of course, people also hyped up Lykathea Aflame who are another terrible band.

you can still play, say oldschool death metal while being an original band.

Some people just seem to equate originality with jamming illconceived inspirations from various genres into their black.

I quite frankly don't really see the need to listen to black metal that incorporates prog rock for instance. For one thing because the black metal bands as a whole all tend to do it really poorly and secondly I would much rather just listen to the actual progressive rock bands on the basis that they can actually do it right.

If I'm listening to black metal I want to listen to black metal.
