co199 posted:For those of us with terrible taste, DragonForce's new album leaked and they released the first video from the album: I am a huge fan of DF and really like the songs I heard off the new ablum, especially this one. I think Marc Hudson was a great replacement for ZP Theart and like his vocals as much as I ever liked ZP.

Nordick posted:And on the topic of cheesy overblown power metal, it seems Pathfinder have released a song from their upcoming second album on Youtube. Sounds pretty good as well, in that certain "what the gently caress is wrong with me and why am I listening to this and grinning like an idiot?" kind of way. DragonForce is my favorite band, hands down. And I found this Pathfinder song to be so frantic and all over the place that I had to stop it half way through. I think it was mostly the vocals that did it in for me though. Mostly due to the fact that in about 5 seconds, the vocals went from melodic singing, to death metal growl, to some soprano singing something I couldn't understand.

Henrik Zetterberg posted:The new old Pantera song from the Vulgar-era. "Piss" Half of it sounds like discarded riffs from Strength Beyond Stength. Meh. Watching a bunch of dirty looking rednecks head bang was the worst part of that video, though. Escape_GOAT fucked around with this message at 07:42 on Apr 13, 2012 |

Defiant Sally posted:Greetings bros, I posted a new Be'lakor tape awhile back and many of you seemed to enjoy it, so I figured I would alert you to the fact that they have posted the entirety of their new album on YouTube I patently hate hate death metal vocals, but this sounds pretty loving awesome. I'm going to have to check them out. Are recommendations for bands that have this sound but with clear vocals?

Turk February posted:This is a lie because I can read them all. I wish I was going to CIM this year. Really? I don't think some of them have actual words in them. What are the two bands to the right of "Dehumanized" and the ones under "Vaginal Bear Trap" and "Cardiac Arrest"?

nomapple posted:Unfortunate as it is, Megadeth, Motorhead and Slayer are not the live bands they used to be, and don't draw the crowds they used to either. I don't know if I'm in a minority here, but I have a hard time listening to Megadeth anymore. All I can think about when I listen to them is what a stupid twat Mustaine was for announcing his endorsement of Rick Santorum.

I had the radio on in the car the other day with the volume low, and I heard what initially sounded like a new Metallica song only more interesting than anything they've done in the past two decades. Turns out it was Hail To The King by Avenged Sevenfold. Pretty rockin song, considering I really never cared for them until now.

Chromatic posted:Kind of agree but there are songs on that album that I enjoy. The album after that(Quiet Place?) was complete garbage but Come Clarity owns and I will defend that album to the bitter end. I remember the album after Come Clarity being completely bland and lost interest somewhat after. Soundtrack to Your Escape had a couple good songs, as did Reroute to Remain. They're sort of like Load and Reload from Metallica; if you took the handful of good songs from each you'd have one decent album, and another slightly larger album of completely unmemorable songs. Come Clarity was great though.

Just got tickets to see Arch Enemy in Orlando in two weeks. They're co-headlining with Trivium, whom I've never really listened to before. What are their best albums?
