Thought there was maybe a bit more of the Sepulchre sound in it than before.

I wish I knew which song was Ukrayina though because all the names are written in Cyrillic and I don't know any martians to translate, but they're all loving amazing so I guess it doesn't matter.

Assuming that's a straight transliteration, I'd guess you're literally looking for a song entitled "Ukraine", i.e. Україна.

....Incubus?

Yeah, a bit confusing, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean the UK Incubus, which is some sweet NWOBHM, but the later killer thrash US Incubus.

Uuuhh no, definitely not. No one would have expected Zappa to side with the PMRC.

I had to double-check that I hadn't accidentally stumbled into the nu metal thread.

Eternal Champion has a couple of the guys from the now dead Graven Rite, so if you enjoy this album you also check them out too. I'm very sad that Graven Rite never put out a full album.

I've never been able to wrap my head around Pallbearer. What is it that so many people seem to like about them? I've seen them live twice, incidentally to other bands they opened for, and both times they were the most excruciatingly boring metal performance I've ever experienced.

Qrixkuor's first full-length is monumental, two 24 minute tracks of chaotic, dissonant death metal!

i don’t remember who it was but there was 2 one-man bedroom black metal solo projects with the same name that then collaborated to release new material under the same name

You may be thinking of Choronzon, see the notes here: https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Choronzon/4442

quote:

NOTE: Choronzon began as two separate and entirely unrelated bands with the same name: the eastern Choronzon was a Florida based black metal-styled band formed in 1986 by P. Emerson Williams, while its western counterpart Choronzon was the San Francisco old school industrial project of Demitria Monde Thraam formed in 1989. In 2002, the two respective Choronzons became aware of each other via the internet, and agreed to share use of the name. Then, they decided to go even further and collaborate musically since 2004.
