I don't like seeing intergender combat sports, fictitious or no, because we're still doing our loving damndest as a society to tell men it's not okay to beat their wives or girlfriends and normalizing that poo poo on TV is a huge step backward. I also just don't like watching it and it makes my stomach churn. Austin Aries is a loving idiot, though, and I want a woman to beat his rear end publicly as he talks about his testicles making him strong, so my brain is a place of contrasts.

One sided matches where the woman has to be the underdog and sells for 90% of it are gross. Matches where men and women are presented and treated as equals is really loving cool. Wrestling is fake and a power fantasy and "being as good as the boys" is a really common story trope and power fantasy.

If someone's argument against intergender wrestling is "it makes me physically ill to see" and "it reinforces negative behaviors in the general population" I'm gonna go ahead and guess no amount of excellent matches done correctly are going to suddenly make them not physically ill or make the societal issue go away.
