The main OSHCs from Marvel for Decemberquote:UNTOLD TALES OF SPIDER-MAN OMNIBUS HC No real surprises as I think all of these were listed in the Hachette PDF a while ago. Don't think I'll bother with any of these. I did like Untold Spidey but I've still got all the single issues somewhere and I didn't like it that much to warrant an upgrade.

They're all on DC hardcovers because of their "We can't be arsed to shrinkwrap stuff" policy. My Gene Colan Batman HC was mis-folded at a really awkward angle. It took a fair bit of coaxing but I did mange to get it back into a reasonable shape.

Bloody hell, even the shrinkwrapping doesn't help. Got my New teen titans Omnibus this morning and the spin's about a centimetre and a half askew. I'm not anal about these things so I won't be sending it back, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't get me a bit narked. Also got the NTT: Games GN, not read it yet but it's a really nice looking book. The old-school GN format has perfect dimensions.

Given that they're released the Post-Ennis / Pre-Aaron stuff in OSHC I'd say the chances of getting the new stuff OSHC'd is pretty high. Never can tell 100% though.

StumblyWumbly posted:That was my original thought, but the OSHCs usually cover 2 trades, and now 3 trades are out and nothing has been announced. Yeah, but I wouldn't expect to see an OSHC until 8 month to a year after all the relevant contents have been available in trade paperback. And it did take a long-rear end time for Vol 6 to come out. Given that it's Punisher Max, and it's Aaron, I fully expect an OSHC / Omnibus at some point.

The release schedule for the new 52 collected editions is wonky as poo poo. You'd have thought they'd have released them sooner to latch onto the momentum of the relaunch. Although I'm sure Bob Wayne (or some other sales dude) said in an interview that they have kept some advertising money back for when the trades are released. On the plus side, they are pretty nicely priced and, Batwoman aside, all contain at least six issues. Marvel have been royally taking the piss recently with super-low-content trades at "normal" trade price-points. I think all of these DC trades are cheaper (at RRP) than buying the single issues where you just can't say that with Marvel at the minute.

These for me: BATMAN: BIRTH OF THE DEMON TP LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT: JIM APARO HC BATMAN INCORPORATED VOL. 1 DELUXE EDITION HC THE NEW TEEN TITANS OMNIBUS VOL. 2 HC A decent month from DC. Absolute Final Crisis is a no-no, there's no real reason to upgrade from the exisiting HC as far as I'm concerned unless you want the 3D. I think the art is also a bit too hit and miss to make the oversized format worthwhile. If it was all Jones and Mahnke then maybe but the fill in artists were less than stellar. Previews have got the Marvel list up. No details but I'm guessing (based on price) these are the oversized ones quote:AVENGERS CROSSING OMNIBUS HC DEODATO DM VAR ED $99.99 Might get the Kree Skrull War and Vengeance but that's only if I've got spare cash. Neither are a must-have for me. The Crossing is complete and utter shite and why it's been given the omnibus treatment is a mystery for the ages. Four Classic Premiere's too this month quote:SILVER SURFER PARABLE PREM HC $24.99 Parable's probably a definite buy but it would be nice if it were oversized for the Moebius goodness. I assume there will be some additional content as Parable itself is pretty short, 48 pages or so. Will need to see the contents for the Hulk and Avengers books to see if they're worthwhile.
