For Mature Listeners I'd recommend our two part set on Seaguy and Seaguy: Slaves Of Mickey Eye with Dominic Griffin of Armchair Auteur

Part 1
Part 2

And for Spall Talk, I could recommend the one you were on, but I'll forgo flattery and recommend our coverage of:

The King's Speech, with Hannah
The Enfield Haunting, with Andrew Ilha
Upside Down, with Trevor "Hegelbon" Strunk
Vanilla Sky with Shane
The Journey, with Shannon Strucci

Hi fellow goons, I do a podcast with a couple of other goons and a buddy of mine where we talk about Pro Wrestling. Specifically Japanese, Mexican, and Independent wrestling. It's really niche but if you have any interest in it, check it out! We have a conversational format where we will occasionally dive in depth on certain topics and have a few little running jokes that go along with the show like bleeping out "WWE" and only referring to them as the "Bad three letter company". We don't really talk about them due to the litany of issues with their ownership and the awful product they put out, but we keep our ribbing of them lighthearted and fun.

Our latest episode where we talk about New Japan Pro Wrestling's Big event to kick off 2020 and preview the year ahead

Genre: Tabletop RPG Actual Play

Duration: Around 50 minutes for a play session, 35 minutes for discussion

Release: Weekly, on Saturday

Together we Can Survive

Over a hundred years ago, the world melted. The great Cloudcomb Mountains collapsed, flooding the world as if wiping humanity off the slate and making room for horrors, beasts, and demons. Humanity has survived this long. The Deiliths, the divine monuments that keep watch over the world, appoint their chosen ones to push back against the darkness, and together they fight to reclaim what humans once had.

Sword of Symphonies is an Actual Playtest podcast about our in-development tabletop role-playing game Heroic Chord. Join Cat, the game's designer, along with her friends as we play through the setting, discuss the system, and talk a bit about game design writ large. If you want to play along, give the game a spin, or just learn the rules behind the playtest, download the manual for free right here! It’s an optimistic adventure about bringing hope back to a destroyed world, and we hope it makes you smile.

Such Silence (Sword of Symphonies: Episode Twenty-Four We begin Cobb's character arc with silence, a story, and a storm. I really liked putting this one together, and future episodes go some places I really like. Join us for adventure on the high seas!

Sword of Symphonies is getting to have quite a few episodes, but I think a low-commitment place to see if our style of actual play is something you're into would be Kersten's Training Wheels, a four episode stand-alone mini-campaign we ran in September. It's a little different in theme from the main show, but we had a lot of fun playing it. I'm hoping to have arc summary episodes recorded in the next month or so, but If you like the mini campaign, just jump in on Episode 1 (which I have to warn you has audio I'm unhappy with) or Episode 2, if you'd rather skip the setup and get right to the action.

If you'd like to instead listen to us talking RPG mechanics and design, any of the Cat's Cradles should be fun to listen to! In particular, I was really happy with the discussion we had a couple weeks ago about stats and stat systems in tabletop games, and what they mean about what sort of stories they make you tell. An early episode about Heroic Chord's free-form magic system I think also says a lot of about what we and the game are about.

Hey all! New episode of my mixtape show just went up! I'm excited about this one because I actually did a sort of mini-interview with one of the cofounders of this Cairo-based music collective called SLOVVDK (slow decay) https://slovvdk.bandcamp.com/ He wanted to do it over email, so I sort of just summarized what he said, but that's definitely something I'm going to keep exploring as I go forward. Rise up - for you the flag is flung - for you the bugle trills

Hello, I host and produce a show about politics in Iowa called Rock Hard Caucus.

We talked a ton about how the Iowa caucuses work in the episodes leading up to it. Our focus will probably be a little bit less on electoral politics going forward. When we're not making Bernie propaganda, we're discussing recent Iowa news, trashing local businesses, and mocking opinion writers. Kind of a regional Chapo like Trillbillies are for Appalachia.

discussing the technical fuckups of the Iowa caucuses with Jack Allison from Struggle Session - https://soundcloud.com/rockhardcauc...-allison-292020
our immediate caucus followup (kinda long) - https://soundcloud.com/rockhardcauc...uck-them-262020

We try to keep a weekly schedule but the 4 main hosts have wildly different life schedules which makes it difficult sometimes. I've also been out of town for a couple weeks which explains the recent content gap. Our next ep will be recorded Monday!

Sword of Symphonies

RSS | Apple Podcasts | Stitcher | Pocket Casts | Twitter | Website | Game Manual

Current chapter: The Albatross Legion

The Westbreaker sets down in the vibrant city of Stageport, the last big city of Amylte. Love, memories of loss, and an uncertain future lead to dangers, some of which, at least, can be solved with violence.

Patch Notes (Cat's Cradle Eight) Before we start the next playtest arc, let's discuss a few ways that we're adjusting the game system! There's a lot of changes to dice rolls coming in the future, with some neat roleplay gamifications, and mechanical changes coming down the line. Expect a new edition of the game in a month or so!

Kathleen's Cradle(Cat's Cradle Eight) This is a chat about podcast production, and it's definitely not being released in the order it is because I needed more time to work on an episode down the line. Definitely.

The Albatross Legion (Sword of Symphonies, Episode Thirty-One) Back to gameplay! In this episode, the Westbreaker sets down in Stageport, and Cobb, Tissa, and Penelope immediately start hanging out get tied up into some sort of heroic nonsense with some new friends! What lies in the dark history of the biggest city left on the continent?

The Albatross Legion (Sword of Symphonies, Episode Thirty-Two) So, what did we get wrapped up in? Let's wrap ourselves up a little further!

Hey, my girlfriend and I and her theatre nerd friends have been reading Choose Your Own Adventure books. We're playing them in the vein of a kind of roguelike adventure, and I've added music and sound effects to make the ridiculous adventures even more ridiculous. We've done four so far. They're simple to do. Maybe we'll do all 180+ books?

Episode 002: Journey Under the Sea
Episode 003: Space and Beyond
Episode 004: The Lost Jewels of Nabooti

Mature Listeners 13: Preacher Part 5: Speaking Of The Episode Title, Let's Get Back To Talking About Preacher w/Jessie

On this episode, Jessie returns to talk about Animal Crossing, Better Call Saul, wrestling in quarantine, early 20th century cartoons, Westerns, the sad experience of watching 2016 PWG in the context of 2020, and the bit in Preacher that finally gets to doing what Jessie kept telling us Preacher was going to do eventually.

Get it: iTunes | Pocket Casts | Stitcher | YouTube | SoundCloud | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | RSS

Genre: General Entertainment
Release: None! Tha show... it dead

Description: Mark Wise, Jin Wicked, and Root Bradford sit down every month to chat about what we're up to, what we've been working on, review what we've been reading, and discuss other comic-related topics. Includes perspectives both as readers and independent creators of comics.

Episode 40: SMELL YA LATER! Good news everybody! I won't be stinking up this thread any more because after 5 years and 40 episodes we're calling it a day on the Comic Bros Podcast. We came to the consensus that between our personal schedules and projects (not to mention all the poo poo happening right now) we should pull the plug on our little show.

Looking back I remember we originally started this show with the goals of getting in touch with other artists, encouraging each other to create more art, be more productive, etc... And in that regard I think we were wildly successful.

I can certainly say I've grown a lot as an artist and a big chunk of that I owe to my friendship with Jin and Mark . Not to mention I hope I was able to enrich people's lives to some extent by making our show blog and FB show page a hub that would introduce people to new work and artists.

So for those of you who listened. Thanks.
For those of you who never heard of us. Jen's got all of our episodes hosted online AND we're on Youtube so go check it out!

Until next time... Put a gorilla on it.

Zine Launch! Big news! We've released a new version of Heroic Chord! Listen to the rule changes on this episode, but most importantly, go here and download the new manual! It's pretty, compact, and has everything you need to unload at your next tabletop session. Try it out! We have a lot fun with it.

The Albatross Legion (Sword of Symphonies, Episode Thirty-Three) It's time to make allies, prepare for a hunt, and figure out how to move forward in life.

Mature Listeners Riffs: Surviving Edged Weapons: Thornton Wilder's Hard R Town w/Judge Jessie

Cw: descriptions of violence, references to sexual assault, knife culture
On this experimental, a word here meaning "lazy", episode, Judge Jessie returns to live riff Surviving Edged Weapons, a movie that they show cops to teach them how to be racist around knives, as well as John Cena vs The Fiend at Wrestlemania 36. You can sync these episodes up to the source material, but I would not recommend it because the John Cena match isn't very good and Surviving Edged Weapons has a lot of pictures of actual knife wounds, and that's not vibes. But what is vibes is listening to us talk about which cops use the N word (all of them) as well as a lot of other tangential things.

Mature Listeners 14: Preacher Finale: Lane Bryant For Hypebeasts ft. Judge Jessie

We have finally finished Preacher, and in this episode, we celebrated with digressions on Batman pissing into himself, NJPW undercards in the Ustream era, snapbacks, and Kamen Rider, as well as an opinion so incendiary it makes Shane go orc mode.

Hi everyone! Some of you might know me from @Praxiscast, a podcast run by UK goons about UK politics, but I'd like to plug my new endeavour:

The Bottlecap Preachers is a podcast where two folk musicians listen to genres of music we're not familiar with and provide reviews / reactions / insight. If the idea of a socially minded Celtic beavis and butthead sounds like your thing, please check us out! Episode 1 is online on podbean, episode 2 is due on wednesday and I'll be getting us on iTunes and spotify asap.
