Make a Fallout game set in the Deep South where you play as a Ghoul and humans setup a makeshift KKK so you have to avoid being lynched by white human supremacists riding motorbikes.

Yeah, it seems more like New Vegas should be the Carthage to the Legion's Rome (in Denver? That's the only other town I remember being talked about), or at least some province that the two battle over if Carthage is more the NCR's equivalent.

Yeah, I loved the wackiness of OWB, it is my fave DLC for NV. FIDO is one of the coolest weapons, especially the sad moan it gives out when you swap it for another weapon. I personally loved having the Animal Friend perk, as it meant that I could walk up and find lobotomite corpses all around thanks to my nightstalker pals.

Like Roman said he will forgive a lovely story if the game surrounding it is actually fun. This is how most people think, and for most people NV just simply wasn't as 'fun', for whatever reason (for me it was the boring, poorly designed wasteland/desert that made me feel like once I discovered all the important map markers there was no more reason to walk anywhere and might as well just fast travel all the time, which is terrible) but I stuck with it because I was genuinely engaged by the story and wanted to see how it would play out.

You probably didn't discover them all then:

Nope, discovered every location. Fact is most of them are simply throw away map markers usually small shacks full of tin cans and a bed. Certainly nothing worth visiting twice.

I don't see how that differs from FO3, especially since most of them give me the benefit of not having to fight (re)spawned super mutants every time I go by.

Successor question, then: where exactly is the "best" place to stash stuff? I haven't really figured out how storing things / item decay works in this game yet. Can I just drop poo poo on the ground wherever, does it need to be in containers, is it like Skyrim where some containers reset and others don't, or. . .

Keep in mind I'm a ginormous pack rat who slow-walked out of Dead Money carrying not just every gold bar but also seven sets of Sierra Madre Armor, four Browning rifles, etc. etc. etc.

It's similar to skyrim; I know there are more non-resettable containers than this but this list should give you some basic ideas of where to store stuff.

If your save file gets above a certain size it starts acting really glitchy; I think mine started doing that at like 35 hours (but I tried exploring like everywhere and doing all of the DLCs).

There's a location called the Sunset Sasparilla Headquarters, located somewhere near Camp McCarran (sorta on the highway west of it). It'll answer all of your questions when you get to it.
