I'm getting seriously pissed at the Legendary Assassins that Caesar is constantly sending after me. I'm all of level 11 and I have guys with Super Sledges and Thermic Lances on my rear end, so constantly that I finally just started using the console to 'disable' them. I did that to FIVE groups of four assassins each going from Wolfhorn Ranch to just north of Novac. Every quarter of a mile I get 'THE CAESAR HAS MARKED YOU FOR DEATH!' and it's yet another bunch of overpowered, heavily armored assholes I can only kill by chugging chems like I'm at a rave. This cannot be the way it's supposed to be, they were NEVER this common before, and not as high level either.

How do you disable them?

Open the console with ~, click on whoever so you get 'Legendary Assassin (number string here)', type disable, it winks them out of existance. You might need to enable to console in your ini file, but I don't recall exactly how.

There are two keys in the Vegas sewers; one leads to the area with The Humble Cudgel, the other is to a locked gun cabinet in one of the other zones. You may have picked the lock before finding the key.

I decided to go with House in this run-through, so I killed Benny with his own pistol. Left the Tops and Vulpes gave me the Mark, so I gave him a .308 round through the back of his skull. Killed the boatman in Cottonwood as I'd cleared it out earlier, slaughtered everyone in the Legion Camp, got my tenth kill for the GRA challenge 'Against All Tyrants' on the guy with the snappy goatee in Caesar's Tent, cripped the old man's head with throwing spears then gutted him like a fish with a combat knife. I bet House is gonna have some words for me.

I'd hoped this would stop the assassination squads, but it doesn't look like it.

I'm enjoying going through Lonesome Road. I had to leave a couple times to pare down my weapon selection, though; I'm down to just my Anti-Materiel Rifle and a Riot Shotgun I picked up. Found a stash with like 300 armor-piercing .50 rounds, had to dump all the other types I was carrying; no big loss, I needed the punching power for the enemies. The armor you can find is awesome, though heavy. Right now I'm sitting outside the final area but I think I'm going to backtrack and look for more collectibles that I missed. I'm missing one recording, some notes, and a lot of posters. Are any of these in the Courier's Mile?

Edit: A note. I was hunting Deathclaws in Quarry Junction with my AMR, and I fired an exploding round at the Mother Deathclaw. Killed all four of her babies in the blast and took her to about 40% life. She then proceeded to loving FLY at me, moving faster than any creature I've ever seen in the game, faster even than Cazadores at full flight. I managed to shoot her once from the hip then fell off the rocks to make her path around to me where I was able to hit her again. God drat she FLEW at me, so scary.

One of the things that always bothered me is how, when exploring buildings, you would find massive piles of shattered concrete and rebar. Then you look around, and the walls and ceiling of the entire hallway are pristine aside from a few pockmarks. Where did all that rubble come from? It's less noticeable in New Vegas than in Fallout 3.

And Lonesome Road, jesus. That's what it I would picture the ruins of Washington DC to have looked like shortly after the bombs fell; it is fantastic at making it look like the destroyed remnants of a large urban area.

In regards to Dead Money in Hardcore mode, I stopped feeling threatened as soon as I picked up the unlock code for Stimpacks. 25 chips for a stimpack, when at the time I was carrying over a thousand and I had only just gathered all three allies, and not even gone into the casino yet? Yeah, no problem there.

I finished Lonesome Road, and went into the area that you unlock about halfway through the Divide, Courier's Mile. Jesus Christ, I took only a couple steps into the region and I'm already fighting the meanest sons of bitches in the game; those irradiated Deathclaws can take an armor piercing .50 round to the skull and not even flinch. I basically just blew up the two warheads, since you can see them from right near the entrance, and ran for it. Is anything special in there, aside from the unique Bowie knife right at the entrance?

Has anyone tried out the Badass Wasteland Restoration Mod for FO3? It looks like it would totally change the ambiance of FO3 in to something much different, I like the idea of fighting through a 'living' wasteland instead of a 'dead' wasteland. Does it look as good in-game as it does in the screenshots?

I'd just download it and check it out but my copy of FO3 is on 360, though my recent re-playthrough of New Vegas is making me kind of want to pick it up on PC and mod it.

I had a mod for Fallout 3 that was either this mod, or a very similar one. I turned it off quickly, for the simple fact that none of the new trees that were added were solid. They were a 3d model that you could walk through, but the enemies ignored. So basically you're getting peppered by enemies through trees that they don't know are there but are blocking your view.

I bought a silenced .22 pistol from Chet in Goodsprings on my latest playthrough and decided to test it out by going to do 'I Fought The Law' from the Powder Gangers in the NCR prison. Turns out that it doesn't matter if you shoot a guy in the head while he's in view of his buddies, just as long as they don't see YOU. "Oh hey, Bob just had a sudden onset of Perforated Skull. Poor guy." At the end, Eddie is the only guy alive in the entire prison, surrounded by his dead bodyguards, and he's still giving me the quest like nothing happened.

I can't wait for the 'betrayal' part. Explosion at the fences, six NCR soldiers storm into the compound, and find a lot of silence, a bunch of bodies and one extremely confused Eddie.
