Yeah, I believe part of the focus is making this a single-player game with an overarching multi-player system meant to supplement your play experience, not allow you to focus in any way on PVPing or PVEing with your buds. You're relying on everyone so there's no insular grouping, and so you don't get too comfy.

Just to let you guys know, this is probably a fruitless endevor. Because of the way the game works, not only will you both need to be within something like 5 levels of each other, but you'll also have to be in the same "lobby," and there's no way to determine or influence that.

Just a quick question

That solar knight you can summon got killed when I tried to fight the gaping dragon, and the cleric at firelink left after his friends show up. Do either of these events happening lock me out of anything?

Nope! Soltaire doesn't die and stay dead, he just dies in soul form. He'll respawn at his bonfire, run around in his world, and will still drop a summon symbol on the ground in front of later bosses so he can help you out.

I don't know about the cleric, though.

Try slowly walking down the bridge with your shield raised until you see the dragon twitch, then run your rear end off (preferably with no clothes on, for speed) to the left-hand nook near the centerpoint of the bridge. There's a set of stairs there that you need to run down.

Hug the right-hand part of the bridge and sprint. When the bridge widens slightly on both sides, there's a staircase you can take to end up below it. Immediately after you do that, there should be a door on the opposite wall of the stairs (If you come across rats you've gone too far) that you can take to kick down the ladder from the earlier bonfire. Don't forget to do that.

e: After you get back to the bonfire, go buy 50 arrows from the merchant and Shoot the dragon's tail for a while. It's worth it.

I don't think anyone answered this yet - in the room where the balls come down and land on the ball launcher, you have to follow one of the paths all the way down. It's the one that ends with a hole in the floor that's plugged by a ball - can't remember which one that actually is though, sorry. But yeah you run down to the bottom of the ball path, across the ball-plug and it's sitting up in a windowsill.

The item-ball for that armor set is visible from the bottom of the stairs as you enter, on the right-hand side of the area, if I'm remembering correctly. The chest piece does indeed rule, both in terms of stats and appearance.

She'll keep coming at you as long as you're human in that area, until you kill her. You can also summon her against Qualaag once you beat her, and she's surprisingly good at tanking her despite the fact that she's naked.

Of all the black knights that one gave me the most trouble because he likes using heavy attacks you can't really parry and will ruin your poo poo if you try to block them. Luckily that means he attacks slower than most black knights so you can just circle him and attack his back while he's swinging.

Is summoning help for Capra useful?
It makes it way easy. I'm pretty sure you can block his attacks, so if one person is blocking him, the other can beat the dogs to death, then Capra on his own isn't a big deal.

Unrelated, but after my big soul/humanity loss I've been (depths spoilers) farming humanity in the depths, keeping a summon sign open by the bonfire. You can make a lot of risk free souls escorting people through to the boss, and the dark spirit is worth like 6000 on his own. I just always feel so bad when they go into the boss room, because so far, nobody I've helped has been able to beat the dragon, because I'm usually the only help, and I kind of suck at fighting it. Especially sucks because, man, one win and I would've made back all the souls i lost

I'm stuck in the catacombs. I seriously can't find my way out of here: I went as far down as I can, there was a spike bridge. I can't find the lever for it. I dropped down onto a ledge, and onto another. It went around and I got a great scythe and then i dropped through some dirt and went around a horseshoe with the scream ghosts and on the other side I found the fog gate to the opposite side of that same spike bridge. I found the loose wall you can smash through. I went all the way up and into that other chamber where I got the darkmoon seance ring. I can't find a single way up. How do I get out of here? where is the lever for this goofy bridge?

also, what is the point of the catacombs? If the lever was right here and I got right back across that would just lead me out. Where is the boss?

ohhhh nooooooo I think in backtracking the fourth time I found my answer. asdf

Only attack it after it charges, don't try and do anything else. Just goad him into charging and get out of the way when he does. It's not an especially fun boss fight, but if you only do that it's pretty easy.

So, I'm now convinced that the gargoyle tail axe is the best of the axe class weapons for 3 reasons. First, it's flexible so your wide horizontal swing won't get interrupted if you hit a wall or a blocking enemy. Second it boosts bleed, poison, and *toxin* resists. Third, it staggers graveyard/catacomb skeletons with it's weak swing and completely knocks them down with the hard swing. Throw a holy enchant on that fucker and make the catacombs your bitch

Is there any easy way to make that holy?

Very 360 and amazingly immediately after I posted that I took them down no problem. About two seconds in the templar npc broke the tail off the first one and for some reason that made the whole fight a lot easier. I even got a Stone Gargoyle Axe out of it!
