I updated to the newest .dll and it hasn't changed anything However: I updated to a new version of the component, (foo_lyricsshow2 or something, can't check exactly as I'm mobile) and that did seem to work alright, it was searching for some new lyrics. The only problem was it was behaving really irritatingly and basically just displaying the lyrics in a pop-up window instead of a panel (or a dockable panel like I currently use), so I got rid of it. Hopefully this gets resolved soon, I really do love having lyrics by my music

coeur de pirate posted:Got it working, thanks. Now I can slay some dragons listening to Brian Mcknight I recently updated to foo_uie_lyrics3 version 0.2, which I think is the most current of the mess of lyrics panels. The plugin preferences for that version add a few new lyric sources - which you have to manually select - and now it finds lyrics for just about everything I listen to.

I have a problem showing album art for albums with multiple discs... My directory structure looks like this: artist/album/disc x and cover.jpg is stored in artist/album Using SimPlaylist, the album cover doesn't show up where it's supposed to be for these multi-disc albums. Is there something that I need to change? Can somebody paste what they have in the foobar Display preferences to find the front album art? e: Also, what character should we "officially" be using to indicate a delimiter, say, for tracks with multiple artists? foobar says it uses ' / ' as a delimiter in ID3v2.3 artist fields, but I just want to make sure that this is the way to go before I start editing a bunch of my tags. krnhotwings fucked around with this message at 04:42 on Dec 6, 2011 |

Try running the online troubleshooter - it's actually very helpful and gives you a list of deprecated or reported components that you have installed. I start having a lot of crashes after updating to the new version, and I used the troubleshooter to update and clean out old components and it solved my problem. I think actually albumlist is the deprecated/problem component, so you might want to start with that.quote:edit: you seem to be using some weird old version. Why not upgrade to foobar 1.x and get the latest version http://mp3tag.de/en/fb2k.html or that... a lot of components don't work with <1.0 and sometimes they lose compatibility when the authors update them

Is there an upgrade adviser for fb2k? I saw some cool stuff that's been added in since 1.1, but I always fear that two of the plugins I have that don't get active development anymore (foo_dsp_continuator and foo_edcast) will get disabled for being somewhat unstable.

Backwards compatibility has not been broken since 0.9.6. And the only thing really broken by 0.9.6 was Panels UI. Not counting the effects any undocumented changes may have had on license breaking components which nobody should be using anyway. (If it's not documented in the SDK, then whatever API it uses had better be granted through closed API headers from the author himself. Of course, the only times that has ever happened were the UI Element components before the API was finalized and released in a public SDK, and the decode postprocessor service which made the current HDCD and DTS in WAV/FLAC/etc decoders possible before the API was finalized.)

Is there an easy way to get Foobar to ignore 'The'? The iPod plug-in does it by default so I hope it's not to difficult.

Red_Fred posted:Is there an easy way to get Foobar to ignore 'The'? The iPod plug-in does it by default so I hope it's not to difficult. Where are you trying to ignore it? You probably need to use title formatting... $stripprefix(X) Removes “A” and “The” prefixes from X. $stripprefix(%artist%) ⇒ “The Prodigy” becomes “Prodigy” $swapprefix(X) Moves “A” and “The” prefixes to the end of X. $swapprefix(%artist%) ⇒ “The Prodigy” becomes “Prodigy, The” But facets has an option to ignore leading The when sorting.

So I'm looking to completely get away from iTunes and never use it again for my iPod. However, the one feature that I absolutely feel like I cannot live without is the down convert feature (from higher bit rates to AAC 160 or something). Does foo_dop have a feature like this so I can fit my entire library on my iPod instead of picking and choosing.

I really really REALLY don't want to move away from the much loved Foo Ava but the new foo_discogs will not work with this. I'm looking for something that is almost identical in the look and behaviour of foo ava. It was a perfect layout and you could have fullscreen or mini mode. Very sleek, intuitive and great features. Has anyone else migrated from fooava?

Does foo_dop have a feature like this so I can fit my entire library on my iPod instead of picking and choosing. foo_dop has a feature to convert unsupported tracks to either MP3 or AAC. You only need to configure it by pointing it at a command line encoder and possibly specifying the options to use with the encoder. It's not very difficult. You just need a copy of LAME, or a copy of Nero's AAC encoder. It may even work with qaac, I'm not sure if the options are hard coded for each encoder or not. qaac would probably be preferable since QuickTime produces higher quality encodes than Nero's current encoder. Count yourself lucky that foo_dop even works with your device. A lot of people have been experiencing trouble with newer versions of iTunes and/or the mobile device support package, and musicmusic doesn't seem to have been around for a while to at least say he's still working on updates. kode54 fucked around with this message at 01:05 on Jan 4, 2012 |

The XKCD Larper posted:Yeah its not very good though. And you have to hunt down the codecs yourself. Converts all my FLAC etc stuff to q 0.40 m4a, on the fly when syncing my iPod. Great! Simply tick the box and select a bitrate if you want to transcode higher-bitrate MP3s (although this is lossy-lossy transcoding, and A Bad Thing, it degrades the sound quality a bit. But you've been doing this in iTunes already so whatever). NeroAacEnc.exe is hosted by Nero, iirc, and I'm sure it's linked from the foo_dop documentation, but if you can't find it, post here, I'll upload mine.

The reason he hasn't updated it for iOS 5.x devices is because MediaMonkey no longer natively syncs with iOS 5.x devices. This affects foo_dop because foo_dop uses iPhoneCalc.dll, a DLL shipped with MediaMonkey 3 to enable syncing with iOS devices. Since he can no longer rely on this DLL, he either needs to figure out how to make use of that MediaMonkey iTunes Device Plugin or write his own code for syncing iOS devices. Either way, it's certainly not a trivial amount of work.

You can just use the normal converter, just setup a preset to convert to mp3 with the output going to the drive the mp3 player shows as, you can even apply replaygain when converting so volumes aren't all screwy. As an example...

Oh theres a foobar thread, welp, cross post inbound. So I've just resorted to the default Columns UI skin, but it's ugly. It's mega frustrating too because it does sound way better than Winamp, but, gently caress if I know how to make it nice. Help
