It says you may use anything except: Roll cage. Isn't that backward?

So, in my Facebook feed, I see an interesting photo, with an interesting caption. Sunday Punch probably recognizes this car. And the caption? "CJWR Car on set with CJ for the Xbox/Forza Motorsport 4 shoot today! — with Bradley William Gilboe and C.J. Wilson." Apparently, they were digitizing it for the game. I have no more information at this time, but you can bet I'll be asking questions when they're back in town.

That's awesome. If it does end up in the game I'd love to see how my version stacks up against it. For reference:

Really, I should add valves in there, since I *think* the intent is that the internals of the engine are all stock, but it's a very grey area the way it's worded. quote:Engine internals may be replaced by aftermarket or OEM pieces of alternate specifications It's been a fun series for me, in terms of speccing out a car that works well...

Finally got my Fanatec CSR and CSR Elite pedals and holy jesus is this going to take some adjusting to get used to them all. This morning when I tried to do some Rivals stuff to just get the feel of things again, I realized because I've been so used to 2-pedal setups my brain instinctively says "Outside pedal = brake" which doesn't actually do so much for braking. Anyone who made the switch have any tips on how to get used to the 3-pedal setup easier? Is the best way to simply play as much as you can?

I'm very jealous real_scud. I'm still on a gamepad and I feel like i'm missing 50% of the game right there. Slowly saving up for a Fanatec CSR. I play enough racing sims that I feel I can justify the steep price.

Yeah, play often; it's the best way to get better at it. Also, make sure you're using the manual + clutch option, so you have a reason to use the third pedal. e: Use the settings Falken posted up for me last page (I think it was last page), they are spot on. e2: It wasn't last page, here they are: quote:If you are using a Fanatec wheel, use the following; GOD IS BED fucked around with this message at 17:20 on Dec 13, 2011 |

Hey Jabs, if the transmission ratios only specify 5 gears, but the Forza race transmission has 6, do we still go with the race transmission or drop down to a level that only has 5 gears? *edit* Nevermind, you can't change gear ratios without the race transmission. Derp.

I suggest using just the paddle shifters and the clutch. The actual H patter shifter and the sequential one are alright, but I find it faster to just use the paddles. If you are in a car that sticks to third and fourth the whole time, go hog wild on the H pattern. But when it comes to getting into 5th, it's annoying because the spring fights so much to get it over there. Putting it into reverse feels like I'm going to break it.

The CSR Elite wheel even has a new setting on it called ACL which works in conjunction with Forza's manual clutch system. What happens is that when you up or downshift with the paddles it 'presses' the clutch button at the same time, giving you near seamless shifts like how it is for pad users with the clutch mapped to A. Sounds handy as gently caress for cars like the 458 Italia.

Falken posted:Pad users can and have been doing it since Forza 3, sooo... They still have to hit the two buttons at the same time. I'm of the mindset that using a pad is cheating anyway, since the game gives you a huge assist for doing so. Obviously, without the assists, the pad would be impossible to use, but still. I don't really care, and am not at all bothered by people using it, but when I get beat by someone on a controller, I definitely don't feel all that bad about it. (I guess cheating isn't really the right word, since I don't intend any malice, but pitting someone on a wheel with three pedals and assists turned off versus a controller with assists turned off as much as they can be is not a fair battle.) edit: Unless you're on an oval, where the wheels have an obvious advantage for the small corrections needed.

I have my clutch re-mapped to A, and my shift up/down reversed. Basically, when my thumb goes to shift, I hit the clutch anyway. It's much faster than the default mapping, for sure. You kind of just slide your thumb across A on the way to X or B. It's lame, I guess, so I don't care if you have some kind of auto-clutch thing in your $400+ wheel/pedal setup

To be honest I'm fast enough with the clutch pedal that there is not really a massive difference between my up and downshifts with the pedals compared to the way I used to do it with the pad in Fm3.

I am feeling 7 feet tall after beating my friend's rival time after a month of trying. We've been going back and forth on Rally di Positano since the game came out it's starting to get brutal. The Rivals Mode execution of asynchronous multiplayer has to be my biggest gaming highlight of 2011. The competition is fierce, the victories are a rush, and there hasn't been a lick of scheduling.

I notice there haven't been any new additions to the club garage recently and I hope to change this very soon! Here is what I've been driving lately.
