It would be pretty ridiculous to change their own rules regarding clean laps trumping dirty ones just because the celebrity they picked can't be bothered to not cut a corner or do more than two laps. Personally I think they have them intentionally log a dirty lap to start out with just to get more people to enter thinking they'll get an easy unicorn, so that way when they send out all the participation cars then people will be more likely to buy the DLC pack to use them since that's what they were stuck with. I mean, you look at the leaderboard for any monthly event just before it ends and roughly 90% of the times are one-and-done deals that were set in the first week, so they're obviously not closely monitoring if/when the celebrity laptime changes.

So I had an interesting thing happen. I found a Toyota MR2 in my garage I forgot I owned and decided to stance it. So I maxed the toe in, all that jazz. When I got it onto a track, my wheels and tires were gone. Only brakes. Preview/photos, fine. Racing, no wheels. Anyone else have this issue?

Are the wheels gone when you go to the in-race photo mode? As in, pause the game, take a photo. If the wheels are gone then, I want pictorial evidence. Also, what if you save a replay and view the replay? I've never heard of this, it's quite a glitch.

They aren't changing rules, they simply never established them, furthermore they don't fake out people with a dirty KotT lap. Based on past patterns what I suspect they do is invite a celebrity to the T10 studious, sit them in front of a gaming rig with a Fanatec wheel and a 3 monitor set up and say "Set a fast lap" without ever explaining to these celebs what the difference between a clean and dirty lab is, and it'd for that reason that I fear that they hold the user base to a different standard than their celebrity guests. The celebrity lap time has never ever changed after T10 announced it.

Well that makes me feel better because I spent all god drat night to finally net a 1:32.230. TCS and Auto with a controller. I'm trying like hell to ween myself off TCS but some of these cars want me dead without it. I know for sure the automatic was hurting because I probably spent a good couple of seconds during the lap waiting for that god drat thing to pick either 1st or 2nd.

Maker Of Shoes posted:gently caress turn 7 right in the rear end. Your entry has to be perfect and I'm watching some sub 1:32 ghosts and I just can't wrap my mind around how fast they are going into it. If I try anything like that I cook that corner like a mother fucker. You really have to sacrifice turn 6 and hold the inside rumble strip till the exit of turn. Only then can you get a good wide outside-inside-outside line for turn 7. Its a lot more important to get a good run out of 7 because of all the straightaway after it, a good exit there means a lot more than a good exit out of turn 6. I guess after some tries you can try pushing to the outside more and more on 6 until you can't hit the outside rumble strip on entry for turn 7. That said I only posted a clean 1:34.003 but that was earlier before when I wasn't putting as much thought into the line. The whole course is a pain in the rear end. You cant see the drat road ahead on most of the turns because of all the subtle elevation changes and poo poo for camber. The turns you can see though have huge bumps on them which really unsettle the car in an uncomfortable way. Then you have over six hunnert horsepower to the rear wheels... The whole thing is a stewing pot for anger. (Fake?) edit: Looking at that map some more, you see how turn 6 is an increasing radius? Makes you want to slam though it. I want to punch the track designer. What tracks are there where you have to late apex an increasing radius turn besides this one? They should repave the road too! I will try the Indy Rivals event tonight but yesterday I did the Nurburgring and Catalunya one. I'm going to have to check my 'ring time because I was unaware of the time to win a car and I'm sure I've done a 2:12:xxx ! On Catalunya I'm at 2:00:3xx and I know I'll get to 1:59:xxx eventually it is just a matter of persistance. I might turn manual clutch back on to get there ha.

The ZR1 and Wiesmann are going to drive me mental. As soon as I get something approaching a good lap, the car just lets go on the simplest of corners because it refuses to let me away with it. We need more Rivals events with less insane cars, like basically anything at or below C class for once.

I haven't tried the new Weismann, but the one that shipped with the game, I love it to bits. Lovely noise, and I drive it every chance I get. That bit of oversteer that happens everytime you go into a corner? That's a feature, not a flaw.

I managed to put down a pretty good lap eventually, but the way this thing bounces into some of the corners is loving comedic. As far as Indy goes, if I don't absolutely nail turn 1, then turns 2, 3, and possibly 4 are garbage. Also, I can't figure out the last two turns (coming onto the banking and turn 1 on the oval). Either I'm fine and hauling rear end, or something lets go and I'm running sideways through the entire thing. Frustrating as all hell.

On the list of road cars I'd probably have to drop the older GT2, the 996 GT3, '03 Boxster... and that's about it. The low resolution on the 360 really kills it since you're watching a strip of about 15 pixels the entire track. I haven't tried it yet, but I wonder if it would be easier with the bumper cam or third person, I think the bumper camera is set at an identical truck-height for every car and behind-the-car view is even taller, which would at least buy a few more lines of track.
