I bought the Vanatoo T0 for bedside speakers, mostly to connect via bluetooth. The clarity on them seems nuts. I also have a pair of fluance ai60s, and although they have deeper bass, they sound like muddy poo poo by comparison.

So far I am extremely impressed with them. For modestly sized speakers that flank my bed on nightstands, they put out some great sound. Installing these drivers seems to let my laptop use aptx. https://github.com/StKob/Intel-Bluetooth-Audio As soon as I connect to the speakers, I do get the windows 10 popup that aptx is enabled. Doing some testing, the audio delay seems to be about 20 ms, which is quite small. I can also adjust for it pretty easily in MPC-HC if I am watching something.

I feel like below $200, new 2.1 systems are only going to involve sadness. You are better off with a pair of bookshelf speakers at that price point. You can get JBL 305p speakers for $109 each on amazon right now. Could buy a pair. https://www.amazon.com/JBL-Professi...ps%2C176&sr=8-1 The cheapest premade 2.1 system that might actually be usable would probably be this edifier set at $300. https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-Book...%2C159&sr=8-110 If money is tight your best bet is the used market though. Check craigslist. You can sometimes find some killer deals. Looking in my area right now, I can find complete 5.1 sets for less than $200. I don't know how much room you have (you mention watching television with these), but floorstanding speakers often go super cheap due to people moving. If you have the means to haul them away you can often get them for like 1/5 of retail. Filthy Monkey fucked around with this message at 09:41 on May 6, 2020 |

For that kind of price I would just get these and call it a day. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Edifier...&frcectupt=true

I am sure they are very nice, but there is more competition at that kind of pricepoint. Make sure you have enough deskspace if you plan to use them as computer speakers, as those are going to be quite large. If we are talking strictly as computer speakers for nearfield listening, I can really recommend the vanatoo T0. They look ugly, but their sound is super detailed. If your goal is to fill up a room though, they won't do as good of a job. The T0 drivers are only 4", compared to the 5.5" on those Edifiers. https://www.amazon.com/Vanatoo-Tran...97878221&sr=8-3
