Andrew Hussie's Twitter posted:

If you believe I should just post it pre-25th, consider:

1) There's still a lot of flash debugging to sort out.

2) I could not actually host this file right now if I wanted to. Hosting solution currently in development.

Does point one mean this will be an interactive flash? I imagine that making sure a regular flash animation plays right would not require multiple days of debugging. Could he mean there are problems in the current version of Flash that are causing problems?

As for the second point, he's used Newgrounds to redirect traffic that would have killed his own server. Does Newgrounds have an upper limit in file size that this file would exceed?

When I first saw this on MSPA's front page, I thought "Oh great, the porn comics are now customizing their ads for Homestuck."

However, clicking it just takes you to the MSPA homepage. Someone made a fake porn ad to put on the homepage that links to the same page?

If there was any sort of interactive portion of it, Youtube wouldn't be an option at all. Hussie should definitely throw the .swf file in a torrent, and he could also put it up on Rapidshare and Mediafire, and all the other file hosting services. Is he assuming not everyone knows you can drag a flash file into a browser window and play it that way?

He's used Newgrounds to host files during the initial rush, but the oncoming bandwidth storm may be too big for even that.

Now that all the characters are in groups, we may finally get conversations of people actually talking to each other without using Pesterchum or Trollian, without sprites being involved, and outside of flash animations. That doesn't sound special, but the comic's always avoided it before.

I remember doing this was really common on the MSPA forums during that entire sequence. People kept arguing that Vriska wasn't that badly hurt and she couldn't be feeling that much pain as her dreamself, and somebody did those photoshops. The one I remember clearest is "KILL ME" written on her forehead, it was pretty chilling to see in red blood.

I'd hate to dredge up something that was played out on the MSPA forums here by doing this, but I wanted to see how the death of Spidermom would be affected by red blood.

Maybe Lil' Bro defaced the pages of that pony book like Hussie did that copy of Wizardology (a link to that would go to the Penny Arcade forums which seem to be down at the moment, and it's not that safe for work anyway).

The way we're meant to parse that paragraph is that Bro called Jake "just a gigantic lovely space furry" after Jake let on that he wanted to make out with the blue Avatar lady. It's meant to give a little info about Strider, that he'd phrase it that way like Mom would specifically say that she and Jane were "BFFSIES 4EVERZ."

There's also mention in [S]Rose: Descend that a lot of the white kingdom's mythology is based on hopelessness. That might be because the kids' pre-scratch session was flawed from the beginning, or because the white kingdoms are destined to lose without any outside help.

This has occurred to me in the past, but Homestuck has a pretty huge following. How likely might it be that comic book shops might actually be interested in carrying volumes of Homestuck? Do webcomics in book form tend to be sold in places like that?

I've seen copies of Problem Sleuth Book 1 at a Zellers, which is kind of a Canadian equivalent to Sears. Topato is definitely shipping copies of their books to retailers, and if you check your local big department store you might be surprised.

At first, I thought time dilation was stretching three nanoseconds from Hussiebot's point of view to three years from the kids' point of view, because they were traveling at really, really close to the speed of light. After a glance at the Wikipedia page for time dilation, I think I got the effect reversed. Now I don't know what the hell's going on.

They're not traveling at light speed, just a teeny-tiny bit less. That's a few less laws of physics punched in the snout, if it helps any.
