marsattacks posted:This is lame, but I'm honestly going to be really sad when Homestuck is over. It's a great story, and I wish I'd gotten into it a year ago. I'll miss it too. Especially the fact that my birthday is an important number, I got Past Karkat: Wake up last year and am getting the EoA this year. But birthday update chat always ends up being horrible so let's not talk about that anymore. On the bright side, Andrew has said that Homestuck itself is a precursor to another thing, like Problem Sleuth was to Homestuck. Not sure if that thing will be another adventure or not, but I'll look forward to it anyways.

A set of burnt up red curtains closed in the flash, followed by a normal set of red curtains. Which means the burnt curtains are... what? And where are the blue curtains?! I guess we know what Act 6 will be, then. It will consist entirely of Andrew Hussie redecorating his house. Curtains, a new paint job, the works.

Slime posted:I'm kind of wondering if the entire Skaia/SBurb(SkaiaBurb?) thing was set up my Lord English. If he eats universes for sustenance, it would make sense for him to be in favour of the creation of new universes. Perhaps, but I keep thinking of how Skaia and the gods from the furthest ring play into this. Kanaya at one point said she felt, when looking into the clouds, that there was a silent, but benevolent, entity guiding her. And then of course the outer gods helped create the green sun in the first place. We don't know what goals either of them have, or if Lord English was supposed to exist in the first place.

Regy Rusty posted:I think the conclusion of the story will be more interesting than "end fight against Lord English." I think it's going to be more along the lines of unraveling the mystery surrounding Lord English and figuring out a way to put an end to his cycle of universe destruction. It may be that they can't stop him from destroying the reset universe but will stop him from entering any more. It's hard to predict anything at this point. I'm thinking something like this too. Back in the Intermission, there was a part where it said Lord English could only be defeated by glitches in spacetime, and I just keep thinking back to that.

I liked a theory that was mentioned in the previous thread, that he's sort of like a Demiurge figure. He ensures that there will be more universes will be created for him to eat, but also makes sure that they are flawed so he can bring about their end. No way of knowing if it is true or not at this point, though.

A thought just occurred to me. Andrew said this in part 4 of the EoA summary:Andrew Hussie posted:We also can’t be sure that’s all there is to this method. Is it a simple matter of dying on the bed, or is more required? In the only two examples we have of this, Aradia and Dave+Rose, they die spectacularly in an explosion of green fire. Is that among the requirements? This is inconclusive. (Also before going on, I want to clarify that this isn't a "The Derse children are going to go evil" theory.) It is entirely possible that this is just Andrew's way of stirring up speculation, but it has just occurred to me that if we take this at face value then it is possible that John is the only (living) God Tier that isn't involved with the Green Sun. Perhaps this fact will end up being important. Not because it will cause betrayals or whatever, but for god knows why at this point. Not really a sound theory or anything, I know. Just a bit of information that may or may not prove relevant.

creationist believer posted:Personally, my issue is that J = post-reset Grandpa Harley has been the obvious answer for so long, and it's only been reinforced by the story of the player-ancestor reversal of the trolls. It feels like a setup like Scratch's "My guest is already here. Of course it's Spades Slick, who did you expect?" I kind of think it's a distaction, or at least right in an obvious way and wrong in an important way. I've been kind of thinking this too. It just reminds me of when everyone thought that Lord English would be the one at the end of the Troll session. Or hell, that the Tumor would do something other than create the Green Sun. I'm not saying it's impossible but it seems like the sort of thing Andrew would take in a different direction. vvvv oh nooooooo Boneless Jogger fucked around with this message at 07:05 on Oct 31, 2011 |

Those make a lot of sense, but hey theory making is fun so I'll throw out another one. It might be another glitch, like the pre-scratch troll session had. If Bilious Slick doesn't exist, how can their universe exist? I don't really know how that'd work, though.

Supercar Gautier posted:Reminder: On May 15th, Andrew advised the art team that he'd probably be getting started on EOA5 in two or three weeks, which he estimated as the time it would take to complete all the setup pages. When in doubt, always assume that he's understimating the length and time investment for any given segment of content. Remember when Andrew thought he could wrap Homestuck up in one year's time? Hahaha...ha. The payoff is worth it in the end, but time estimates have never been his strength.

The head tilt and weightless slouch are just the same, I have no idea if it means anything though. Maybe she just really likes clouds?? A lot of stuff were callbacks to the Act 5 Act 2 intro flash, like opening curtains, or zooming in to Earth, then John/Jane's house. That was just another callback to the end of that flash.
