This is Mingus. He is both agressively friendly and crazy violent to stuffed toys. He has coloration on his shoulders and back I've never seen on another cat that shifts from black to brown depending on how the light hits it.  I got a harness and leash for Mingus and he took to it like a duck to water. He was a found stray kitten, found in Mingus Park in Coos Bay OR but he has been indoors only ever since. It was so nice to see him enjoying the outdoors.

This is apparently common in the genetic mix of stray cats around where he was found. Have any of you dealt with something similar? Do any of the supplements I've seen online really work? I just wanted to share that I started giving my cat a tyrosine supplement and it has made his coat much darker and healthier looking. In addition beyond just causing a black cat's coat to turn brown a Tyrosine deficiency can cause long term cognitive problems later in life. I don't want to get overly attached to the fosters for obvious reasons, but they adopt better with a name. I asked chatGPT to come up with lists of baby names popular in the early 20th century that aren't popular anymore starting with the same letter. For the most part I couldn't tell you which one is named which since I don't use them day to day, they're all just fuzzy potatoes. The names are basically just a unique identifier on the adoption page. Bertha and Bessie I do remember because Bertha is by far the largest of her siblings and Bessie is kind of mottled black and white like a cow.

 We just had a Panleukopenia scare in my house over the weekend. Luckily it turned out to be a false positive due to getting inoculated earlier in the week.
