Stewart Lee is also amazingly insightful and intelligent. His bit about 'reverse racism gone mad' is 100% cross-culturally applicable to America.

Attell has always been one of the best, if not the best, working today. Watch Captain Miserable (his latest special, 2008) to see that as starkly as possible. He's been on the Nerdist podcast a few times and that opinion of his greatness isn't singularly my own. It's just he hasn't been focused entirely on stand-up as of late, 'cause of Dave's Old Porn and all.

It was pretty uneven, because his character work is fantastic, but his actual standup is kinda generic and forgettable. He said on KPCS that he's most comfortable when he's doing his characters and I think it shows.

A character-based sketch show is probably the best format for him. I know a lot of people aren't gonna get it, as evidenced by all the dumdums in TVIV, but I think it's funny as hell. More reasons to not listen to anything TVIVers (except us, of course) say about comedy.

His Fabrice Fabrice stand-up segment on John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show was just amazing. "You know who loves fried chicken iss BLACK PEOPLE. You know who else loves fried chicken? EVERYBODY."

I actually like his (non-character) stand-up a lot. And when he's doing himself on the show. I was literally eating pizza combos when he said "a cats rear end in a top hat looks like a pizza combo"... It was hilarious and gross.

Yeah, I think the show gets better with each episode. Doesn't hurt to have Chelsea Peretti and John Mulaney on as writers. I'm really starting to love Bobby B. Sometimes I even mentally respond to things in his voice.

TVIV may not like it, but it got renewed for a second season two weeks into the first season, and it is getting great ratings.

Can't wait for Amy Schumer and Anthony Jeselnik's new shows.

You and me both on that one. CC finally decided they'd give TALENTED comedians a shot at doing their own shows how they want and it's working good so far with Kroll's. God drat was the latest episode hitting on all the right cylinders with both Ghost Bouncers and The Spotted Ox Hostel.

I need a little bit of help in finding a forgotten comedian I want to look up again. He had a bit that made me laugh so hard about how Christians in football act persecuted when they aren't, because if a devout Muslim were to play football and start praying during a touchdown celebration, whipping out the prayer rug and prostrating repeatedly on it, Americans would be like, "Wow! Football is CANCELLED!" Any ideas as to who it is? I remember he was on Spotify, but I can't seem to look through past albums I listened to to find it up on my own.

Yeah, Inside Amy Schumer's pretty good in my book, as Kroll Show was. But I don't get the hate Jeselnik Offensive and Jeff Ross's show get. They were both absolutely hilarious, in my book. I re-watch all the episodes of both of them quite frequently, because I still find them absolutely hysterical. I guess different strokes for different folks.

First, agreed about Jim Norton's stand-up being poo poo while his radio poo poo is great. But, about Chelsea Peretti, she and Jim have both mentioned numerous times that she wasn't exposed to that sort of stuff. None of her peeing on him with a hooker present or anything.

edit: I missed a recent WTF live, and one with Maria Bamford at that? Can't thank you enough for bringing this to my attention!

Man, Patton's new special is only on Epix and I can't get at it. :I They loving advertise that they are giving out free 14-day trials, but they apparently don't think to actually send the loving emails out for it, or whatever the goddamn deal there is. It's been 12 hours and I still can't watch it.
