Low-fi? Stripped-down? I still have no idea what's happening in that game, but there's always something fascinating about crossovers, especially over-the-top ones like that. Smart of them to try something like it, with the niche success of SRW.

Yeah, of the two this is more tolerable than this. Which is not to say I really like either, that much. The Combichrist one at least kinda fits with...well whatever the hell they doing to DMC. The second one is just terrible. I really didn't mind the cheesy vocal stuff in DMC 3 and 4 - it was sporadic enough that it wasn't in all the tracks, and did get the blood pumping. I do hope they have some decent boss tracks though, not the garbage they pumped out over that "Review" video. And DMC in general has pretty kick-rear end boss tracks, even DMC2. SSNeoman posted:I know this is old, but those pre-orders are bad. Like I think the one that gets you the item shop early on would be good for speed-runners, but the rest are bad. Really though, is there anything worth getting right at the start of the game? Of all of them I'd say the Orb Bonus is probably the most useful, since extra orbs is never a bad thing. The downside is, like you said, it's pretty redundant after about 2 playthroughs. The downside to all of them though, is fugly weapons. Whether that's a step-up or down from generic weapons is a matter of debate. SSNeoman posted:Also 120 loving bucks? DmC will be playable at Comic-con, and there'll be another Q&A session, where the aim of the game is for the developers to avoid answering as many question as they can. It will also feature at the MCM Expo London Comic Con (26th Oct). However, that's also the day the Bond film comes out, so gently caress that.

Night Club Demo http://www.twitch.tv/capcomunity/b/335334788 Summary: *Game appears to keep track of...a white blob*, and the red orbs when you kill enemies. * * The premise of the Disco level is that Lilith will set you challenges such as- WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR FAAAACCCEEEEE * "Lost Soul" hidden collectables that will increase the mission completion bonus. * SATIRE * Blue and red platforms, that require the player to hold down the angel or demon trigger to not take damage on that floor. They sometimes cycle through them in the arena. * Hair chat incoming! That loving skunk patch is back. Couldn't let it die with the 2010 trailer, could you NT? * Other challenges include "beat enemies before the clock runs out", trigger specific platforming, and the usual "beat all the enemies to unlock the door" * Storywise, Dante has come to the night club to find his Generic Love Interest who has been captured by the demons. My guess is that he's going to kidnap Devil Jackie Stallone and use her in the trade off to get back Generic Love Interest. * Usual items seem to return - vital stars and devil stars, etc. * Considering how sluggish the enemies are, and how quickly they die the stream must be on easy mode. * It's very hard to hear over the crowd, but this is perhaps the only time that the very disco-esque music fits in well with the environment. * The shotgun is named "Revenant". Whoever though this was a good idea needs to be stopped. This is NOT how you do satire. I also hate bitching about poo poo like this, but the level looks much worse in action. When we had quick cuts to it in the trailer, it looked really good. It had a vaguely non-euclidean dance party thing going on, especially with those green pathways. Now that I see what it actually look like, and that those green pathways just lead from one cubeblock battle to another, the effect is much less impressive.

The downside is that the combat is still pretty meh, even with all the many refinements, and the platforming still kinda...well not really that impressive. I dunno. A modernized Vergil wearing a fedora and having a cane and poo poo really doesn't seem all that farfetched to me. He's always been a sort of polar opposite of Dante, and since New Dante is all "PUNK ROCK AND BEING CRASS AS gently caress, YEAAH", it makes sense that New Vergil would want to dress "classy" and all that. Hey, Notzaar, do you want the character pictures and demo vids, etc for the OP? "Dante is the protagonist of the new, contemporary game in the series. He is a demon-angel hybrid who lives as demon hunting vigilante. He is counted by the officials of his hometown of Limbo City as a member of an organization of "terrorists" and is being pursued by both national and worldwide authorities. Dante himself is a young and rebellious social outcast. He lives and fights in Limbo City, where demons seemingly influence every aspect of the world and the social condition of the humans living there." "Kat is a former runaway that joined The Order very early in her life. She is a medium and a gifted psychic who can see into Limbo, the demon realm, but not directly interact with it in the way that Dante does. She is the right hand girl of the Leader of The Order and devotes her very life to him, often putting herself in grave danger to gather intelligence from Limbo. There is a sweet innocence about Kat’s world view and logic, but when it comes to her specialist subject, the demon realm, she is an undoubted expert. Kat is The Order’s ‘eyes and ears’ and is tasked with guiding Dante on his mission through Limbo." "While Dante was admitted to an orphanage run by demons as a child, Vergil was adopted into a rich family. Highly-gifted, Vergil wrote a security encryption program that made him a multi-millionaire before he was even out of school. Vergil’s parents both suffered at the hands of demons, which is something he intends to take revenge on them for. His mother was killed at their hands while his father has been enslaved by them. He now uses his wealth in order to research and combat demons, and is described as calculating character that makes strategic decisions without letting emotions get in the way." "Not much is known about him at this time, other than Vergil refers to Sparda as Mundus' most trusted lieutenant as leader over the demonic forces, wresting control over 9,000 years ago. He seems to control Limbo City from a seat of power in both the demonic realm, and the human world, watching the city through the CCTV system connected to a wall of video monitors in his large office." I found myself trying to lock on constantly only to end up using the evade button (which are the right and left shoulder buttons btw). HOWEVER, this isn't a bad thing depending on how you look at it. Personally, I'm willing to learn and master this new fighting mechanic. Its pretty complex, interesting, and becomes fun when you get the hang of it. For original franchise players who jump cancel, lock on constantly, and string their moves fluidly like I do, we have to basically relearn how to play Devil May Cry the Ninja Theory way. This is where the divide of players will most likely occur for sure. "Capcom Japan watching closely over the gameplay development", huh? My fuckin' rear end. Why the hell would they insert their mediocre Heavenly Sword bullshit into a series known for it's distinctively speedy fluid action!!??!? Why, why, why didn't Capcom just let NT handle the visuals and "story" and keep their stupid fingers away from the core of the game? Well Capcom, looks like you got exactly what you wanted. I would say I hope it sinks like the fuckin' Lusitania but then I would be a little worried you dumb bastards would let the series die.
